sugaree: Ill give it shot, but I haven't been here much lately: 1 - Adam won MTV "Must Follow Artist on Twitter" This is HUGE!!!! 2. He didn't win Fan Army, Tokiyo Hotel did. 3. Very good acceptance vid on winning, and Vh1 is berting about it. 4. Sauli tweeted a Halloween pic of him and Adam with "My Love!!! Happy Halloween" 5. Nile Rodgers finished his work on Adam's song and said it was funky Probably more, but that's all I can remember Sadly.. I think that sums it up.  |

I didn’t think most of them brought a lot to the show. Adam Lambert was by far the best. He was very dynamic and very engaged with the designers. A couple of the guest judges were just sitting in the chair, like Kim Kardashian, for example.

Nope, you are not. Facts are facts.  On the subject of Adam: After looking at the "breaks" that most the hot, current pop artists take, I believe the original time frame for a single/album release would have been much better for Adam. The original summer album release date was more in line with artists like Gaga, Katy Perry, Bruno and Kesha. If the new single doesn't come out until January, that will be 20 months between single releases. (without any collabs to bridge the gap) :( . Katy's albums were released 26 months apart. Bruno has only had one full studio album, released in October of last year, as had KE$HA. They both released several singles before their albums came out and an EP. Most artists use the album release, then promo and tour for a year model, then write and produce next album which gets them on a 2 - 2 1/2 year cycle. In the interim, they might release an EP of unused songs (Katy and Daughtry did that) or a collab or even a LIVE album or DVD! Which has what Adam was doing and is completely normal. It is we who are the impatient ones! I wouldn't compare anyone to Gaga or Rhianna because IMO, they just really need to go away for awhile! ...I am looking at how far apart singles from different albums are released. An acoustic version of old songs or a B-sides CD does not help any artist with radio presence. I am referring to radio presence for artists and I have my facts straight. ;D Katy's last single from her last album, Waking Up in Vegas, and California Girls were released one year apart. Plus, Katy released two collabs during her year between singles interim, one with 30H!3 and one with Timbaland that reached outside her hardcore fanbase. Bruno has only had one studio album, but he released more singles off of it than Adam did off of FYE, and he had HUGE collab hits BEFORE that album even came out. Now, he has a hit with that damn Twilight song, plus another Mega hit collaboration on the charts. His next album is rumored to be coming out in the Spring, which means he will have been all over the radio for over two years. If you are like Katy Perry, Gaga, Bruno or Kesha and you have 3,4,5 mega hits off of your album, that sustains radio play for about 18 months-2 years. Throw in a couple of collabs like Perry and Bruno did and your absence from radio is hardly even felt. If you are lucky enough to be someone like Gaga whose songs stay on the recurrent charts for 5 or 6 months or even longer, it closes the gap as well. Adam's schedule is closer to the usual Idol schedule. Kelly Clarkson was finished and ready to send her album out last June, though. Kelly also had a duet (with Jason Aldean) that was a Mega hit on Country and ended up going platinum. I was just hoping for something closer to the schedules that the hot pop stars have. I'm sure Adam will still be fine, but I can wish for something a little different. |

tigerlily, how far apart singles are has really noting to do with anything but how radio is accepting and playing the artist, not their breaks or when or when they worked on their albums. Adam was not fully accepted last time by some radio PDs. This time I truly believe he will be embraced. I am ready for 4 singles this time. ETA: Cayman, yes I knew. "Ella Marie" and she is gorgeous! One month from today, I will have my 3rd grandchild! Excited! |
