tigerlily, how far apart singles are has really noting to do with anything but how radio is accepting and playing the artist, not their breaks or when or when they worked on their albums. Adam was not fully accepted last time by some radio PDs. This time I truly believe he will be embraced. I am ready for 4 singles this time. I was listening to KIIS as I was running errands the other day and heard a perfect example of what is often talked about regarding radio PDs and DJs. To paraphrase: Bobby Bones (nationally or only Texas syndicated?) was introducing Bruno Mars' latest single It Will Rain and he said that at first he didn't like the song but it WAS Bruno Mars after all and so after repeated listening he decided it was good. That is the kind of play and comment you get when you are popular. He was right the first time in my opinion, the song is all the worst Bruno Mars traits ... sappy, formulaic, 20-something female pandering, AND vocally strained. I loved Billionaire and really thought The Lazy Song was fun. The most I can say about Just The Way You Are and Grenade was at least they were moderately well sung despite their excessive pandering. Can you tell how annoyed I was by the comment. I hope that one day Adam will get this kind of leeway which flows so generously to Gaga, Katy Perry, etc. They do good work but they also get a lot of bys. This sounds really right to me and also I had to log in to say I agree with every word you wrote about Mars--so many of his songs just insult my intelligence as someone close to his target audience (lol gotta say Lazy spoke to me though ). And yet I loved Billionaire and also the BOB collab, which was well done. However, leeway aside, I think the best thing Adam can do, timing or no timing, to increase his radio presence is to have irrefutably great potential singles (something I don't think, Fever possibly excepted, he really had on FYE, YMMV). SO if we have to wait a little longer for that to happen, then I think Adam, in the interest of great radio play, should take as long as he needs. And all the signs, as far as I can see, point to a potentially KICK ASS single line-up.

Lulu, I think .es in the url indicates that it is Espana or Spain but I am just guessing. ETA: and yes I agree that is some list to be the top of ... and he is fascinating. ETA2: I also think you should be at least 18 to make that list or it is just creepy. "What man do you think has the most fascinating beauty of the world and made you fall in love with him? Vote for your favorite. The top 10 will remain in the 2nd battle."Look at the points! He was superior. I didn't know Adam was so famous in Spain.

You may be close to that target audience in age ... but that intelligence thing just keeps getting in the way. ;D So common Adam, make mwp happy and get that first KICK ASS single out there!!!!!! PS. and me and everyone else on this board. AND everyone else in the whole wide world, they just don't know it yet.

So,my sister called me today to say that '"everyone" has been trying to figure out what sent me over the edge into Adammania. My response was YAWN, YAWN since she doesn't listen to music, buy music, or care about music(or musicians.) However, she may have stumbled onto something.
Many years ago, about 23 or 24, I think, we chaperoned a long distance school trip (details unimp) and when the kids were in meetings for 2 days, we escaped and drove from Cherokee, NC up the mt to Gatlinburg, TN. When we walked into the building where you board the cable car to the top of the mountain, there in front of us was a booth owned by the Cherokee Indians. Manning it was the most incredibly beautiful creature I had ever seen He was a Cherokee, probably 6'2", long, long black hair, startlingly blue eyes(found out mom was NOT a Cherokee,) and the sweetest smile and disposition I had ever encountered. His name was Thomas. He was 24.
We discussed him for many years thereafter but when I started my post kids and divorce life, he slipped my mind. Sis thinks I have been harboring impure thoughts about my Cherokee for all these years and that Adam (the comparison was brought about by the long hair/poncho picture she saw) is my (unhealthy, according to her) substitute for that long ago fantasy.
I don't know if that's the case, but when I heard Adam sing BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY and watched the face he made when Simon called him theatrical then the smile he gave to Paula, I was a goner. Maybe it was deja vous. Ha
