12.28.19 by Adamtopia, on Flickr As the decade comes to an end.... Your favorite Adam and QAL moments nominees are...
12.26.19 by Q3 It's odd, the decade will end* in a few days without much fanfare. But for me, the 2010's were the decade of Adam. * Yes, I know that mathematicians and historians will argue that the decade ends on December 31, 2020 (there is no year 0 on the European/Wesstern calendars). I get it. But according to one poll, the majority (65%) of Americans say the decade ends on Dec. 31, 2019, and the start of a new decade begins on Jan. 1, 2020. So, I'm going with that. You know, the 60's, 70's, 80's -- and soon, the 20's). The nominees for the top Adam moment of the nameless decade from January 1, 2010 through December 31, 2019 are:
WWFM Billboard top 10 single (2010) Grammy nomination for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance (2011)
St. Agathe en Feux Festival in Quebec (2011)
Trespassing debuts at #1 (First #1 album in USA by an openly gay solo artist) (2012)
Ghost Townβ hits 100 million Spotify streams (2015)
Adam Lambert El Rey, Los Angeles solo concert (2019)
The nominees for the top QAL moment of the nameless decade from January 1, 2010 through December 31, 2019 are:
The EMA, Belfast - the first time Adam fronted Queen (2011)
QAL perform at Kiev's Independence Square (2012)
iHeartRadio concert, Las Vegas (first USA QAL concert) (2013)
QAL Rock Big Ben Live, London (New Year's Eve 2014/New Years Day 2015)
Isle of Wight QAL Concert (2016)
Queen + Adam Lambert open the Oscars (2019)
Last call.... is anything epic missing?
If we missed something please post it in today's thread.
Voting will commence tomorrow!

I think Fantasy Springs 1, in Feb 2010, with Adam's historic version of WLL should be on the list.
The last concert of the GNT tour on Dec 16, 2010 at Club Nokia in LA, with its several full circle moments, should be on the list also.

I am happy to see the EL Rey listed for Adam's solo moments, as well as QAL rock Big Ben Live (NYE of 2014/2015)
Runner-ups for me when it comes to Adam's solo career are many of his Idol moments. Without them I wouldn't have turned into the dedicated fan that I have become and who 10 years later is totally blown away by Adam's new music and refined artistry. I also really liked Adam's back to back TOH solo concerts and final tour stops at The Orpheum in LA.

Great list of nominees. When you mentioned Ghosttown that also hit 100 million views on YouTube this past January. Just thought I would mention it because I remember they made a big deal out of it. That would be my favorite pre Velvet song. I still play it regularly both on Spotify and YouTube. And I'm so glad he's doing it in his shows!π€©
Q3 just wanted to throw what a fabulous discussion this has been while Adam is on his well break deserved break instead of just dithering about nothing.
I'm so glad I found this board. Really informative and fun!π₯°π₯°
Disclaimer- nothing wrong with dithering. I'm as guilty as anyone!

I saw a advertisement for the new season of Idol yesterday. It started with "Idol creates superstars" and showed Carrie winning over Bo. Then it showed Carrie at her audition. Then Adam walking into his audition. And Jhud holding her golden ticket. Nice to see ABC finally using former Idols for their tv promotions. In the past they would use their stars often for promotion but ABC was slow to come on board but they are coming around. They were very proud of Adam and Jhud performing at the Oscars before and they made a big deal of that. And Carrie and Adam have mentored on the ABC version and performed on the finale. It is clear who they believe their superstars are. I suspect they don't use Kelly because she is a coach on The Voice. Jhud no longer holds that status as it was given to John Legend. But it was very nice to see Adam confidently walking in to start what was to become a highly successful career.
What a decade this has been for Adam. His confidence, maturity, stylish sophistication, and sexiness make for an exciting and brilliant solo artist and a rocking frontman for Queen. This combination really sets him apart, imo. I will be forever grateful that he made the decision to no longer try to follow the crowd. It wasn't getting him the massive radio play in the US anyway so he might a well do what he does best and what most others are unable to do. And that is to sing, look and rock as only Adam Lambert can.
