Lambert, May and Taylor performed “The Show Must Go On,” “We Will Rock You” and “We are the Champions” after Queen were presented with the Global Icon Award by Katy Perry. “When I was growing up there was no MTV in my house,” Perry said. “But then one day, a friend of mine played me Queen. It opened my eyes, unlocked my heart, blew my mind. I knew exactly what I wanted to do and I knew who I was. I am only standing here because of the brilliance, and drama of Queen.”

Oh wow. I'm... pleasantly surprised.
That's actually a pretty great interview. Focuses a lot on the music and we finally get some insight into how the direction of his album evolved in the way it did. I've always wondered about that.
Adam of course comes across like the gracious, thoughtful, intelligent, beautiful soul that he is.

Who knew? Adam was exciting, dynamic, HBIC last night and that’s the only way you can succeed when you’re fronting Queen. It did give me a chuckle when he was directing the techs on sound issues. That is what makes him so special - the voice combined with knowing what he wants and how to get it. Not being intimidated and taking full responsibility- not credit- for the performance is vital. As I was critiquing the vocals my wife was drooling over the boots and jacket. She’s usually more sophisticated than that, but she’s allowed a lapse once in a while. Really, $3500 for the jacket, Really? That’s okay, one man’s jacket is another man’s Harley. So what did you think about the vocals? Just what everyone else said. Dynamic, impeccable, original - not imitation, self confident, just the usual. I leave the real evaluation up to Cassie because she’s better at explaining why he makes his fans feel as they do. Reading the tweets was interesting and had to be extremely validating for Adam. I hope it translates into sales when his new CD comes out. It should. A lot depends on the single and the vibe of the entire album. It will probably take Adam a week or so to come off the high from last night and regain his sense of reality. One of his most charming attributes is his honest to God admiration for other talents and the thrill he gets from being in their company. |

wow....that was a great interview. We learn so MUCH!!
....it doesn't make sense to hold grudges in the entertainment world. Adam firmly gets to explain his grievance and headspace during the furor , Hicklin offers a bit of mea culpa....we get some nice era #2 promo... and all is good with the world. ;D
I don't ever have to forgive and forget, but Adam comes off looking really good.
