Whoa, where did this come from??? Check this out: idolator.com/6069081/adam-lambert-out-100-list-warhol-print-elvis-presleyIdolator talks about the Out magazine pic and interview (and loves them!). However, they quote something, presumably from the interview, that is actually not in the interview on the Out website. This part is particularly interesting: "So a lot of what I did at the beginning of my career started to become reactionary. And also, I don’t know if I had the best guidance at the time. I was kind of flying solo in many respects, doing what I wanted to do. The people I was working with before are great people and I maintain friendships with them, they have amazing hearts. But I don’t know if it was quite the right fit on this journey, because it hadn’t really been done on a mainstream level in America, so it was new to everybody. We were all guessing.” ETA: Hmmm, fascinating... a little glimpse of why Adam might have decided to change his management from 19 to DMG (or whatever the new company is called).

Ha - I noticed that too but didn't know why. It's around the 3:03 mark, in between songs 1 and 2. BB's always trying to get things more perfect than perfect. I did too but Adam handled it with such finesse. I still think his sound feed wasn't quite right for 'We Are The Champions'..not nitpicking..for Adam to kill that medley WITH sound issues, singing with Queen, Freddie Mercury's songs, and adrenaline zinging through his body...I mean, he was absolutely insane!!! I chuckled cause when HBIC gets that 'drenaline running, he gets the most GRRRRRR faces. I love this man! And stalk a runway???? He owned it, yes he did..and the praise from Roger, especially..very happy to hear that. We all know how Brian feels about Adam, but Roger was effusive. To see Queen so happy, Adam so happy..god, what a night. 'The Show Must Go On' I will listen to forever, I think. Absolutely haunting. Has anyone seen a strutting gif yet?

I'm exhausted! Berting is strenuous! And we're just warming up... A few comments... I'm nodding my head at all those talking about their lack of productivity the last few days. Yikes. I'm glad I worked Saturday so that I got off my butt and out of the house. And back to work tomorrow -- good. But it's been great, amazing. Like a few others here, I felt a slight bit of disappointment at the lack of Adam mentions in the news, but I was glad and a little chastened to read the opinions of Chunkey and others regarding how incredibly special and right it was for Adam to simply be introduced with Roger and Brian as Queen. That makes so much sense. And I did get a text message from one friend impressed with all the Adam accolades she was seeing on twitter. So yay!!! I was holding on to a grudge against Hicklin (and that is so not my usual style), but he has pretty much redeemed himself with this interview and his comments. Not that he's become my favorite person or anything, but his willingness to learn and acknowledge mistakes on his part certainly raised my opinion of him. That was a very nice interview with Adam. Love it when he speaks so openly. But the (tiny, haha) part of me that is a whiny little shit is still disappointed at the probability that we won't hear any of the angsty, darker stuff on his album. I was very aware that he had to be going through a major transition after the tour and the non-stop action of the last two years, and I kind of wanted to hear some of that. I am glad he spoke about it in the interview, tho. And I am glad that things are going so amazingly well for him in all aspects of his life. But I just find the idea of the darker stuff interesting. Maybe there will be a little on the album to balance things out. In spite of all of that, I'm beyond excited for the single, and the album. And it was probably a joke, but...Sauli in the band?? I hope not!! Sounds like a bad idea to me! Although who knows -- if Adam wants to do that, I won't object, lol. What a thrilling, satisfying experience the last few days have been! I don't go back to MJs very often anymore, but I had to go check out the response this weekend (feeling slightly petty, but whatever...), and it just seems so damn obvious that, as we all knew would be the case, Adam will be BY FAR the biggest star to have come off of that show. There will always be detractors, but it really doesn't matter. *Happy sigh* If Sauli will be touring with Adam, I think he can help with costumes/jewelries/make up, and helping Adam change the sweaty and tight leather pants

A bit OT but I just had to vent this. My dad just had the nerve to sit here next to me watching the video of last night's performance and say that Adam wasn't that great, that his voice wasn't that good and that he could probably find hundreds of dudes online who could sing those songs better. I was speechless I need to go watch that video a few more times now to erase those comments. Guess I won't be turning my dad into a Glambert... I sympathize! I've had to give up on turning most of my friends (and my kids) into fans. Almost all of them are great, progressive, open-minded, and interested in music and the arts, but so many of them have watched videos of Adam and end up saying "yeah, he's very talented, great voice, but he's just not my thing". And then there are the music snobs in my life who refuse to even watch the vids. Sigh, whatever! Their loss! ETA: One of my friends actually watched the entire GlamNation dvd and STILL said "Great talent, but not my thing". Frustrating, but what can you do? To each their own.

LOVE the new out interview Totally like the Out Photoshoot plan of recreating iconic portraits. Important to remember that they aren't recreating a photo of Elvis by Warhol but an ink silk screen based on a photo, more of a painting. Therefore the cartoony colors, dramatic makeup and cut out shadow are all intentional but also part of the limitations/process of the medium that Warhol was was showcasing in his work. I recommend checking out the other Out portraits and seeing if you recognize the artistic homage before clicking on the links, it's fun! Loved the interview too. I enjoyed hearing both Aaron and Adam share some of what each of them had learned from the last OUT outcome.. and moving on to what Adam is learning now. Also gained insights into Adam's next album...how his life changes influenced new directions in his vision. How I wish I could listen just once to every song he recorded in this process to experience his evolution. Just once..maybe.. Had to do a doubletake before I got the Warhol reference. Really well done! I'll go back now and check out the other portraits. Thanks, Rabbitrabbit!! Your posts are always so informed. Look for them, I do. 8-)
