All right, I am really avoiding work and thus I am bored. Anyone wanna play with me?
I am kinda fixated on the single LOL must be my OCD side.
What do you guys think are the chances it's really gonna come out before the end of the year? Of course, that's what Adam said and I believe him, but what if things have changed in the meantime and he hasn't had time to tell us yet?
Does anyone remember when WWFM was premiered two years ago? I am just trying to get a sense of the timeline in time of the X-mas freeze: when would be the latest that a song can premiere and get sent to the radio in November before the X-mas freeze really messes with its chances of success?
Cause make no mistake, I want this to be a HUGE promo push.

cheniershinyey.tumblr.com/post/12477691070/adam-lambert-in-gareth-pughAdam Lambert in Gareth Pugh. Now I rarely blog about celebrities, but anyone who can pull off Pugh deserves an exception. Geometric Coat from Gareth Pugh Fall Winter 2011. [P.S. Do I spot a Rick Owens Wedge?!?] For the hair to the persona, I feel Adam pulled it off perfectly. 4Points I hope someone sends Adam that post - he will *love* it!

I agree that I like Adam's voice more than Freddie's. I am not certain why. I can't help thinking that the ability to record voices is more clear now. I am often left feeling like I can't really hear his voice, it is the same when I listen to Led Zepplin. Since they recorded during 60's - 80's I wonder if it is technology that leaves me with this impression.
Also, I have heard Adam live, twice, and know the power of his voice. He blew me over during his AI tour performance. The tame audience of Salt Lake City rose to thier feet when his intro was being played and sat down when he disappeared beneath the stage. I expected that reaction during his GNT, but not during the AI tour.
I repect Freddie's skills as a performer. The videos from Live Aid are awe inspiring. He had the entire stadium in the palm of his hand from the moment he stepped onto the stage. His voice is good, but leaves me wanting.
Edit: I am a 70's child and grew up hearing Queen and Zepplin. Just saying that I know Queen from when their stuff was new. BR and Somebody to Love are my favorite Queen song. Vocally they do it for me.

Here's a bizarre blog; I read it rather quickly and am not entirely sure I'm getting his point re: Adam. First he's saying there are no flamboyant males in pop and then he says that Adam is doing it, but because he hasn't been a "smash success" (arbitrary gauging of standards, IMO), it doesn't count. ??? ??? And then he blames Adam's label for affecting that. IDGI. unapologeticallypop.blogspot.com/Also, LOL, the shot of Freddie he uses. In light of the several comments we've seen from Queen stans claiming that Adam is more flamboyant than Freddie, I have to say Adam dresses like the Pope compared to Freddie. Seriously, this whole thing is a study in subjectivity, I guess.

Yep and you also might share with him that the Led Zeppelin version is NOT an original. It was a cover when they did it. According to resident Adam/Zeppelin genius, terra_zephead, WLL had been around the blues circuit for a few years before LZ picked it up. Here's a little tidbit on it: It is not exactly correct that Led Zeppelin wrote "Whole Lotta Love" even though they claimed themselves as the song author in their original album. Willie Dixon wrote the lyrics. The song was originally entitled "You Need Love" was put out by Muddy Waters in 1962. "You Need Loving" was put out by The Small Faces in 1966. Led Zeppelin recorded "Whole Lotta Love" in 1969.
It's no surprise that Led Zeppelin found a lot of inspiration in American blues. If a person would trace the history and evolution of one of Led Zep's biggest hits, "Whole Lotta Love" back...it's roots are with Muddy Waters. Willie Dixon wrote the lyrics and sued Led Zeppelin in 1985. They settled out of court. On the CD version of the song, Willie Dixon was given his due as the person who wrote the song.
Not only did Led Zeppelin "borrow" the song from Willie, they "borrowed" the vocal styling of the song from Steve Marriott of The Small Faces, who recorded the song four years earlier than Led Zeppelin. wiki.answers.com/Q/Who_wrote_whole_lotta_loveAnd as someone who listens to quite a bit of classic rock radio, I hear Plant's version quite often. It's very different, for starters, it's not nearly as melodic as Adam's. LOVE the new Out Magazine article. I had a feeling there would be some hatchet-burying when I first heard that Adam did the photoshoot. Didn't know that! I'll make sure to save that bit of information for later As the daughter of someone who loves classic rock I've obviously heard all of these classics since I was little, so I was familiar with the "original" WLL before hearing Adam sing it but I find that I'm more driven towards Adam's version than Led Zepelin's, and it probably has something to do with it being more melodic like you said (besides other things in that performance... )

lambosessed Lambosessed I've added better quality version of Queen medley for those sick of looping the low quality YT bit.ly/EMAsQ18 minutes ago Wow, these just keep getting better and better...the sound on this one makes you feel like you're there in the audience. Can't wait for a super-duper 1080i one.

I'm exhausted! Berting is strenuous! And we're just warming up... A few comments... I'm nodding my head at all those talking about their lack of productivity the last few days. Yikes. I'm glad I worked Saturday so that I got off my butt and out of the house. And back to work tomorrow -- good. But it's been great, amazing. Like a few others here, I felt a slight bit of disappointment at the lack of Adam mentions in the news, but I was glad and a little chastened to read the opinions of Chunkey and others regarding how incredibly special and right it was for Adam to simply be introduced with Roger and Brian as Queen. That makes so much sense. And I did get a text message from one friend impressed with all the Adam accolades she was seeing on twitter. So yay!!! I was holding on to a grudge against Hicklin (and that is so not my usual style), but he has pretty much redeemed himself with this interview and his comments. Not that he's become my favorite person or anything, but his willingness to learn and acknowledge mistakes on his part certainly raised my opinion of him. That was a very nice interview with Adam. Love it when he speaks so openly. But the (tiny, haha) part of me that is a whiny little shit is still disappointed at the probability that we won't hear any of the angsty, darker stuff on his album. I was very aware that he had to be going through a major transition after the tour and the non-stop action of the last two years, and I kind of wanted to hear some of that. I am glad he spoke about it in the interview, tho. And I am glad that things are going so amazingly well for him in all aspects of his life. But I just find the idea of the darker stuff interesting. Maybe there will be a little on the album to balance things out. In spite of all of that, I'm beyond excited for the single, and the album. And it was probably a joke, but...Sauli in the band?? I hope not!! Sounds like a bad idea to me! Although who knows -- if Adam wants to do that, I won't object, lol. What a thrilling, satisfying experience the last few days have been! I don't go back to MJs very often anymore, but I had to go check out the response this weekend (feeling slightly petty, but whatever...), and it just seems so damn obvious that, as we all knew would be the case, Adam will be BY FAR the biggest star to have come off of that show. There will always be detractors, but it really doesn't matter. *Happy sigh* If Sauli will be touring with Adam, I think he can help with costumes/jewelries/make up, and helping Adam change the sweaty and tight leather pants Oh don't say that. It already takes long enough for Adam to come back to the stage between costume changes, don't want him to make longer by getting quickies, behind the stage. :

And of course I was wrong about the pants. They're not the ones from PR but the pics are so dark, lol. I didn't save pics yet but I saw that these are new with something really cool on his knees. I don't have time now lol but in some HQ pics that ninni posted , it looks like they have leather stripes, you know like the pants he wore on his dayout with Alisan. But then again there is something on his knees and in some other HQ pics, the zipper looks like they're new pants and the coat covers everything. If I have time (which I doubt it) I will investigate further. This time I really do not care. ;D Gelly I'm only on page 6, but I saw this post and I don't know if you've investigated further. I wanted to bring this over. I blew this pic up and did a crop last night and posted it on twitter. You can see the pants/knee situation better here.
