WAs just looking at Adam's remaining schedule...as of now...for 2020. Noticed he has three days straight in Sept in EU , skip one day and then 3 more straight days. He's really compressing the EU portion of the Velvet Tour time wise. Makes me wonder if the US portion might have determined the scheduling. Of course....he'll prob do an OZ, Japan leg as well. If he goes to the US tour after EU, we should be hearing something soon...in Marchish. Just speculating: I think the “compression” of dates is largely due to the cost of extra days on the road... vocally he can probably do it as the show is going to be 90 mins at the most (my assumption) and there are no songs on the strain level of TSMGO/WWTLF in his catalog... can’t wait to see the US dates, crossing fingers for NYC of course and as many stops as possible for all of us here

That's true....vocally not as demanding (more sexy soulful songs) and he seems to usually come in under 90 minutes...as well as the travelling costs for all involved. I feel sure NYC and/or neighboring cities will be on the US tour schedule...

Whenever Adam refers to himself as a queen, I can't help but think what it meant when I was growing up in a Navy town. The young sailors coming in would be warned by the top brass to avoid the gay queens hanging around the base at night. Back then, everyone called them that but now I'm not sure how they would be identified today. They dressed as women and they were generally older prostitutes. We had gay kids in high school but no one called them queens (that would have changed how they were viewed) and they just blended in and were accepted with everyone else. The only time I remember them being singled out was that the high school choir director would not allow anyone who was homosexual (his term and view) to sing in his choir. So no need to even apply. Everyone just accepted it as normal during that time and we all, even the gay students, ignored it but they were included in everything else. Things changed when this gorgeous gay kid showed up and he brought the house down in a talent show. And our homophobic director could not get to him fast enough to make him the star of his choir, lol. It opened the door for others eventually.

Just about every term used for a LGBTG+ person in the mid to late-20th century was derogatory and non-descriptive. Maybe a "gay queen" also meant an effeminate man, dressed as a man, looking for paid sex with a man. Or maybe they were transwomen (really a woman who unfortunately had a penis) looking for heterosexual sex with a man. If they were prostitutes then they were probably poor. Who knows? We are only recently beginning to discuss gender and sexual fluidity in a more open, less hateful way. This is probably why there are so many different terms with a variety of different meanings which can be very confusing to know how to use without creating offense. It will probably eventually sort itself out, but in the meantime it also means there is a need to take back past terminology and make it a source of current pride. For me, the term "queer" is one of the successful re-branding stories. It is important to train our minds to think differently and not use past definitions for current usage. It's hard.
When Adam refers to himself as a queen (while not in the presence of Queen, in which case it is a cute double-entendre) which he did in the Stellar interview, I am not exactly sure how he means it so, in my mind at least, I just substitute in flamboyant. It usually fits the general context pretty well.
