Hmm interesting interview.. didn't know he was offered the frontman job. I wonder when that might have been, since Brian has said that they weren't looking for anybody before Adam came along. He says nice things about Adam. Interview video included.. I doubt that they really asked. Queen and Robbie collaborated at one point for a movie soundtrack, but I think they all realized that it didn’t fit. Robbie is one of the biggest British artists himself. Just curious.. why do you doubt he was really asked? I assumed he was being truthful in the interview.. The video you posted is also included in the interview, along with a poll I added to my original post. Adam is in the lead for the moment.

mike_hill99 I wish you'd go back to just a soloist and do your own music. adamlambert @mike_hill99 I’m literally switching gears now and am about to drop a solo album and promote it over the next two months. So your wish is my command! http://instagr.am/p/B9U-9FAhcAC

For all I know they have worked together on the recording of that song. They have probably played around with the idea of playing together at an occasion like the EMAs. I mean, that was at a time, when Brian and Roger needed a singer, when they were asked to perform Queen songs. BUT: At that point Robbie was bigger than Queen. He’s still huge in Europe. In my opinion, Brian and Roger are not the guys to take the back seat while playing Queen. And that’s what would have happened, had they hired Robbie as their lead singer. Robbie can be a nice guy, but he’s a star and he knows it. And shows it. And he isn’t the best singer by all means. But he‘s a Queen fan. And he shows it occasionally on his own tours like here with BoRhap: youtu.be/IBS415GnyNg

Queen and Robbie Williams did record We Are The Champions for the movie 'A Knight's Tale' in 2001. The movie also included the original version of WWRY with serfs stomping and clamping in the stands during the jousting, plus other famous songs by the likes of David Bowie. I love that movie.
Queen had not yet started working with Paul Rodgers which happened in 2005.
So there is not really any contradiction between Robbie Williams statement in the interview and Brian's statement that they were not looking for anyone when they found Adam. It was two totally different time periods for Queen.

I wasn't sure if there was something concrete that I had missed or if it was just conjecture, as I'm not up on Queen history or Robbie except through Adam.
