I'm not sure what the advantage to Adam would be to appear in a group song for the finale. I can see a solo appearance, but part of a group?? If he decided it would be good for Velvet I could see him doing it then flying out the next day. 💜 But just seeing his face in a group number wouldn't really be promoting Velvet. I wonder if he's going to be doing any solo appearances on AI this time around?

He replied to a fan that he would be doing promo for Velvet for the next 2 months so I have a feeling their are some other things coming that we don't know about.

I really don’t see him performing in any group setting, neither do I see Carrie/Kelly/JHud doing this.... actually, will they have live performances by March 22nd, or still in the auditions rounds?

OT I'm a couple days behind, so if the subject of cancellations was one that mods declared closed, please delete... Just saw where SXSW conference/festival in Austin has been cancelled.
Yup. A lot of the big sponsors had already pulled out like Amazon Studios, Warner, Vevo, Facebook, and others. There were petitions and finally, the whole thing was cancelled. I feel for the small bands that use SXSW as a springboard. I fear this may just be the beginning... saw today where a woman diagnosed in Canada had just returned from Las Vegas. Testing is so far behind here the real numbers are just not known. Anyway, this makes me wonder if, rather than touring, Adam and his promoters have considered pay per view streaming. It will be a damn shame if he is unable to perform his new music as he wants. There will have to be some creative thinking this year for him, maybe QAL, and the industry as a whole.

I'm not up on Idol's exact schedule but right now we know about the GLAAD awards, GMA and Kelly Clarkson all right around then. Plus I think we heard Kimmel on the 23rd but not sure if that's confirmed. It just seems there could be some other stuff coming that hasn't been announced yet.

But my bet is he will be on to perform long before the finale if he gets a slot. Standing on stage with a bunch of Idols who have accomplished very little (they wait for a chance such as this) would not be helpful to him or Velvet. He is unlikely to hang around for some group thing before he heads overseas. Besides this sounds like some Lyndsey fantasy. She always likes to keep the Idols as Idols, lol. "A finale group number not only with the current contestants, but past Idols ranging from Carrie Underwood to Adam Lambert. “Get everybody. Bring everybody!” he exclaims excitedly when Yahoo Entertainment suggests the nostalgic idea."

I watched Idol (they are showing the auditions right now) last Sunday. The judges dismissed one contestant who was not "bad", as being too theatrical. I'm not sure if that was meant to be ironic, or whether it's a set-up for some dramatic bring-back of a rejected contestant.

I don't think the Semifinals are live. The judges are still in control of who gets through.

I’ll prefer Adam not to go on idol anyway. Show does not generate the attention it once did.
