Recently, the number of artists returning to the 70's and 80's has increased. There are many songs that reproduce the sound of those days, such as disco, synth pop, and new wave. According to the latest US Billboard song chart “Hot 100” (March 28, 2020), the weekend's second place “Blinding Lights” and the third place Dua Lipa “ Don't Start Now ".
Adam Lambert's new velvet after five years has captured that trend. The opening tune "Velvet" produced by the songwriter Duo-Kinetics & One Love of New York, USA, is a dance pop that reproduces the disco floor directly linked to the lyrics with the phrase "79 Vintage". It goes well with Adam's retro vocals, and music videos incorporating fashion and hairstyles of the time were full of the unique worldview.
"Superpower", who is intoxicated with the intro and outro guitar solos, is a funky track, falsetto, all of which are tied to the late Prince. This song also has a vintage feel. The funky pop "Loverboy" with a feminine and obscene backing voice and a undulating bassline is full of respect for the Highness and George Michael and cool.
This work "Velvet" is reminiscent of the disco-funk era because of its cover art wearing purple and green velvet. He himself said that he was inspired by records from his parents' listening time, and that he refurbished it soulfully. This may be his "return to origin" because the underlying music is a hit tune of this era.
"Stranger You Are," which plays powerful vocals from the beginning, is a disco funk on the funk band-Wild Cherry route known for the hit of "PLAY THAT FUNKY MUSIC" (1976). Rod Stewart, who smashed the charts at the time, also brilliantly matched funky tracks. Even in the late 70's, `` Roses '', which invited the chic member and music producer Nile Rogers, who had hits in the late 70's, had a disco like that underneath their biggest hit song `` Good Times '' (1979) Let me hear a boogie. In the Queen's title, is it close to "Another One Bites the Dust" (1980)?
Adam was invited by members Brian May and Roger Taylor to succeed in "Queen + Adam Lambert". On stage, he performed a stunning performance that inherited the respected late Freddie Mercury, but this work delineates from Queen's work and expresses his personality as a solo album.
Before the waist was almost settled, the tune changed from 5 songs, and on the 6th song, a simple ballad song "Closer to You" for piano without electronica or effects was placed. For ballads featuring beautiful melody lines and emotional vocals, "Feel Something," a gospel back chorus on a large ensemble, is also exquisite. The gorgeous feeling appropriate for decorating the finale and the lyrics spelling out unstable emotions can be expressed only by Adam today.
"New Eyes" is an oldies rock with a different taste from the first disco-funk. Both the guitar hook that resonates in the core and the heavy drum beats are in the 70's, and the psychedelic MV that appears with long hair that mimics hippies and rock singers is also inspired by the time. On rock, there's also Love Don't, which is overwhelmed by powerful vocals and energetic tracks.
Nostalgic synth pop "Overglow" with singer-songwriters MNEK and Butch Walker from London, UK Each song was carefully crafted, such as "Ready to Run", a glam rock that shines on an electric guitar, and the album turned out to show growth as a performer. Adam is supported by LGBTQ followers, but there is no such element in the lyrics or direct criticism of the HeWhoCannot amed administration. If anything, the impact of the truck is strong.
In 2009, he won the second place in the audition program "American Idol", and his debut album "For Your Entertainment" released that year ranked third on the US Billboard Song Chart "Billboard 200". Adam Lambert's 2012 second album, Trespassing, garnered No. 1 on the chart and was a hugely successful singer. This work follows the previous work "Original High" (2015), which recorded the highest ranking of 3rd place, and it is time for further leap.

Love Adam's grocery stopping disguise! The sunglasses are a nice touch. Guess he won't be smelling the fresh produce today, though. I always enjoy seeing Adam and Terrance together. Their friendship goes back so far, way before Idol. Nice stroke of luck that they can keep each other company during the quarantine. And the dogs, too!

And it sure would be nice if Adam got around to doing a little at-home singing segment for us. This morning one of our major radio station guys played a bunch of snippets from all the major who are doing some sort of performances from home. He made a big deal out of it. And the media in general is covering these artists, too. Would love Adam to be a part of it.

Their friendship goes back so far, way before Idol. Nice stroke of luck that they can keep each other company during the quarantine. And the dogs, too! The sunglasses aren’t just a nice touch. They protect him from getting the virus into his eyes. Sometimes more important than the gloves. Touch you eyes with a contaminated hand/glove and you have it. 😉 Gloves aren‘t effective, when you touch them while getting them off. Or like Adam did, when you’re touching the insides of your car (stirring wheel, doorknob...) with them. Washing your hands is more effective, the virus gets immediately destroyed by soap. Just don’t touch your face - while you’re in a supermarket. Although, it’s on the whole very unlikely that you contract the virus by touching surfaces in a supermarket. A least that’s what experts over here are saying after they have studies the virus for weeks. I’m only careful with the handles of the shopping carts.
