At least it made the top 100. That's better than side A. I was just thinking the same thing. Despite the drop over the past week or so, it's still in the top 100. And that is a feat in itself. Makes me feel better. It's hanging in there. I know I've keep saying it, but I wish he'd sing something from his house. The artists that do it are getting some media attention. Seems to me he could sing something without too much complication. Doesn't have to be a fancy production. Others have been pretty simple. Stream and view.

Does anyone here still watch American Idol? I thought there was an interesting exchange on last night's show. Katie said to a contestant: "I think you are a serious artist which probably means you have serious intense thoughts. Seems you're playing a bit of the self-sabotage game." Lionel then gave his definition of an artist: "We're egotistical maniacs with inferiority complexes. There are days when I want it, I want it, and days when I can't make it. It's going to haunt you throughout your life. Too much ego will crash you into the wall, not enough ego will hold you back. So you're going to constantly have this balance going for the rest of your life."
It made me think of Adam and a lot of other artists I've read about. No wonder so many crash and burn! I'm glad Adam has had the strength to keep going and give us this wonderful new album.

That was a really cute exchange. Terrance is such a good looking guy with a wonderful smile and cute dimples! Couldn't help but notice how many times he touched his face during this virus time. I read recently how hard it is to stop doing that! I'm really glad that Adam has such a good friend. I'm sure it can't always be that easy for Terrance -- human nature being what it is! They're both singers -- but Adam definitely has a better voice -- both pursuing an entertainment career -- Adam's is better and more lucrative. It would be hard not to be a tiny bit jealous. Adam has been Terrance's boss at times and that can easily ruin a friendship. I would say that their lasting friendship, and others that Adam has, are real testaments to the characters of Adam and his friends. Golden!

This is just my opinion, after reading the threads for the last few days and all the talk about why Adam's music isn't everywhere as we want it to be. I think number 89 on BB200 is actually a great result considering there was very little promo. Also, I think Velvet has done really well in Australia (not surprising, cause he really made an impression during Firefight concert) and some other countries too. BB200 may be an important list, especially for the US, but it is not the only way to measure success and it does not show what is happening in other places. I'm sure we all want Adam Lambert to have number ones all the time and get all the awards, etc. but I don't think fans should worry too much about all these numbers. It may be interesting to know, but it's not our job to track numbers and streams and all that stuff - there are people whose job it is to do that. I listen to Adam's music because I love it, I love his voice, I love his videos, I share stuff when I can and I stream and download and watch, but music business is a business, and Adam has stated multiple times that he wanted to stop playing the game so much. He isn't out of it completely, I guess he can't be, but he doesn't want to obsess about the numbers and maybe we should believe him. I for one do. I remember when he signed with Warner there was talk about a two-album deal to be produced by MM, and then TOH came out, and for whatever reason, AL wasn't as satisfied with the business side of things as he thought he was going to be, so he decided to leave the label, and I'm sure there were huge consequences of that. He had to wait a certain amount of time (I'm guessing at least a year if not more), before he could even move, let alone release anything. He changed his management too - I'm guessing changing almost your entire team takes a lot more than any of us are aware. In any case, there was no way for him to release new music any time soon after TOH the tour. And then, maybe there was some other stuff he had to go through which he hasn't even mentioned. We all read the letter that accompanied Feel Something, but who knows, except he, what he really felt? I don't, and I wouldn't want to make any conjectures. So, when the articles say that Velvet is his first album in 5 years, it sounds like a long time, but really, when we dissect the timeline, in 2015 he released TOH, then he did the tour into 2016, am I right? Let's add 1 or more years during which he probably wasn't allowed contractually to release music on his own label, and then he finally released Feel Something at the beginning of 2019. Maybe he could have worked faster (although we don't know that he could have) to release a full album in 2018 or 2019, but here is my question: would a half-assed album in 2018 been better than an amazing album in 2020 that is getting rave reviews and that Adam is proud of personally? I know some artists release albums almost every year and they tour solo all the time and yes, that is how they stay in the consciousness of their fans, how they get more fans and how they keep building their fanbase. AL hasn't done that, his fanbase hasn't grown that much, or if it has, it has been mostly due to his QAL gigs. Adam had a long period without new solo music (apart from a couple of singles that were mostly for his existing fans, not so much for getting new fans), but I think he felt he didn't need to get some mediocre album out (like a lot of pop stars do, sorry, but we all know it's true - they maybe have 1 or 2 good songs which their labels push onto the radio and all the playlists for 24/7 play and the other 10 songs on the album are mediocre or bad or fillers), instead he gave us an album where every! single song is incredible! and would be a hit! in a normal situation. What I'm trying to say is (and this is only my perspective), I am happy with Velvet, and I am happy with how well it's doing. I think this album will not fade. People will be listening to it forever, and how fun will it be when new people discover it and start raving about it years from now, saying: Wow, I wish I had gotten into this album ages ago! It will be timeless, too, I think, and it will sound great live in concerts, it already does, from what we've heard last year with Side A songs. It's a wonderful album. I am also looking forward to many more albums from Adam Lambert, because we all know he is going to have longevity as a singer and an artist, there is no doubt in my mind. If we think about 4 albums in 11 years, and he is only 38 years old... Let's assume he keeps releasing about the same number of albums per decade, and he keeps making new music for another 3 or 4 decades, we could have another 12-16 albums from him before he's done! And he always says he doesn't like to repeat himself. Think of the possibilities! I honestly can't wait to hear all the amazing music he is going to come up with, all the new creative ideas that might be starting even right now, with his new equipment (lol). It's definitely an exciting thought. In the meantime, I will enjoy Velvet, and FYE, and Trespassing, and TOH, and everything AL has done in the past. There is so much to admire and be happy about, we are very lucky to follow this remarkable singer and his journey and have his music which suits every mood, soothes our souls and gives us such joy! OK, rant over, haha, it's not really a rant, just a summary of my thoughts on the album and music business and all the talk about why aren't the numbers better, etc. I will just leave you with this little playlist of my current favourites, although they keep changing all the time... for example, this morning I woke up with New Eyes playing in my head, and I was like, where did that come from? lol www.youtube.com/watch?v=E53PkThqKDEwww.youtube.com/watch?v=O41j4T7W4uowww.youtube.com/watch?v=i4C7_I1Hj_Mwww.youtube.com/watch?v=m1zofStvKHY
