Curious...
How organic are these numbers?Initially I was very excited by these numbers shooting up for Adam videos and the Queen performance. My thought was casual viewers and fans are responding to the fabulous EMA performance, and many new people are getting to know Adam, and playing his other videos. With the fact that the videos cannot be viewed outside the US, and Adam rising the top in all areas, I am questioning my thinking. Is this being looked at like a contest to some Atopians? (and other fan sites) Do the numbers reflect power voting? I have been scrolling a lot lately and maybe I have been missing the.... " if time ... VOTE FOR ADAM", that we often see. I am seeing "go check these numbers/comments" etc. Is this raining on my parade? Do I have some misguided perception these videos are being viewed by more than just die hard Adam fans? Guess I may never know ... but I would like to know if others here are power voting.If power voting by fans viewing/commenting.... is causing this ...it is what it is! The Adam fan base is showing it's strength. I was being so hopeful that the numbers were also of an "ORGANIC" nature. Tell me I am right... and yee all can't lie!

Hi all! I've been watching the EMA performance over and over (different versions) and realized that this one on the MTV EMA site has the different edit that some people mentioned seeing yesterday. There are a few more close-ups of Adam at the beginning and, of course, and a different view is always fun. tv.mtvema.com/video/2011-belfastI have to admit, I was kind of wishing for a Suz526 vid so we could see only Adam from start to finish...oh well, it's all good! Also, even though I LOVE seeing him perform on TV, I have to say that I can't wait to see vids (and LIVE hopefully) of his concerts again when he can be as crazy, sexy and free as he wants to be. Rushed right over there to see, but NO!!! This is not what I saw....... What I saw, which ran on TR3 on Saturday, had the only close up shot of Adam singing. It was a full screen, waist up shot of Adam singing ......fly, my friends, Yeah....... In the televised version, and also on this vid, the camera cuts away to Roger on drums while Adam is singing ......my friends, Yeah. On the vid I saw, they moved in close up to Adam as he sang this part. There were several other differences, most notably, on WATC, at the end when Adam is doing his final rif on ......the world, it shows a full frontal view of him, with Brian to his right, and you can see how he waves his arm downward as he sings this. In the "official" vid, they cut Adam out, and you can only see Adam's arm waving downward, the main focus is on Brian. Also, you can see Brian reach out to Adam for a high-five after they finish singing. I can't believe not one tech savvy person has been able to capture this and rip it for us, so frustrating!! Also, what country is this MTV site from? I went to the site, it is vid 80 of 82. I saw TSMGO only, then it said "this vid is not available for viewing in your country" Ok, so the version you described I watched on that MTV site like five (or maybe more) times this morning...now at that same link, I can only get the TSMGO by itself video. I got there originally in a convoluted way, so perhaps it couldn't identlfy me as being in the US and now it does? ARGGHHH! We need that "What is this Fuckery?!" pic. But, yes, that version was amazing--the closeups of Adam were awesome as you described. I want to see this again!!!! Waaahhhh! |

4Msrmyn That is an awesome pic.
You need to send/tweet that pic to Skingraft..it shows the pant detail better than the other pics and they could add it to their file.
They also would know "us" Atopians are checking their site!!! And the tenacious ones check out Skingraft as a go to site for sourcing new Adam clothing items!!!

We need to get our UK peeps to check the MTV UK site. There are a bunch of "Unplugged" vids there too, wonder if they are getting the amounts of hits that Adam is getting on US - MTV?
Also, have always loved the AOL sessions, maybe we could start tweeting about them and get them some views. Adam is really HOT in those performances.

I don't think it really matters if they got there organically or not because the effect is just like when you get a song into the top 10 on iTunes. When people open the home page they see Adam. So even if fan effort got the videos to that point it is still exposure for Adam. All in all a net positive effect either way. Yes there has been fan effort for viewing but it still builds positive metrics that help Adam all the way around. |
