Haha! The Fallon clip was very funny. I don't usually watch him but I do like him. Everyone is going stir crazy! I LOVE Brian's post with the Somewhere Over The Rainbow video. Lovely and so timing. Love this man's sensitivity.
ceecee, I totally understand how you feel. I live in a densely populated suburb VERY close to Chicago. But downstate Illinois people must feel as frustrated as you do. Congested areas are so much more in danger than more open areas. BUT, the truth is, people do travel and move around from place to place. The virus travels along with them. As you know, the virus may be in someone who has no symptoms but is still contagious. And of course, those in charge, governors, etc. must often err on the side of caution. It's a matter of life or death.
I know you are aware of all this. I'm just trying to be empathetic. I shopped for milk and lettuce this morning and wore my mask and gloves and I also brought Lysol wipes to clean the handle of the grocery cart. Strange and dangerous times.
Listening to Velvet makes me feel a bit better.

Got laid off after 35 years. Don't have much to do so Adam is keeping me sane. Adding there are birds around here though. I think I've noticed it more than I normally would have. Velvet 4,010,868 here comes 5M!. And global air quality is amazing! Cleanest in over 70 years in Arizona!

It is a trying time for all of us...different issues for different folks . I live on a small quiet island, reliant on the ferry system for pretty much everything. We are part of a group of small islands with very limited medical resources. Here on SSI we have a small hospital but it has no ICU [and all attendant machines and expertise] so if you get too sick, you are flown or ferried to Victoria. The other small islands have no hospital at all and an even more rural population than us. That sort of low population density is good up to now...but we are also a very popular tourist destination so our pop. explodes around this time of year. The peeps running airbnb's are generally looking to provide year-leases to the masses of under-serviced rental populations...so that is good. Sort of...but they will all be kicked out next spring and the problem will grow exponentially. The difficult thing now is that there will still be an influx of those part-timers that own homes they just close up or people with 'house-sitters' who will now be taking up some of those bnb's...but will also pitch tents. Those people strain our medical system to the breaking point...especially if they bring their viruses from the urban systems they live in during the winter. The other issue I have seen lately is young people thinking this is a great place to come to for the spring/summer and pitch tent in for a little sustainable living experiment. We have this bunch every year but this year, we don't need these little communes popping up anywhere they can find unpatrolled acreage. This is also an island of artists and artizans who depend on the tourism season for most of their year-round income. They are in real crisis...thank goodness our govt has set up a fund available to all those people who have lost their income...regardless of the eligibility for traditional unemploymeng insurance...and it is becoming available now. Our government has been really helpful and practical and we are so damn lucky for that.... In hopes of curbing a little of this ending, our ferry system has halted all direct traffic from Vancouver to here...but it is still easy to get here for the determined. And we need access to medical care etc. and big think is there are still people who somehow see all this as someone elses problem and responsibility. I live alone so have been relying on Netflix and Amazon Prime along with my Kobo reader...to keep me sane. Good job I am generally OK with being alone...but there are times. I love watching some of the concerts different musicians are putting on...I really wish Adam would do some of that but...he has roomies and a big house so does not seem to need the diversion yet. I think there will be more and more virtual music available as people realize that we are living in a new norm for some time yet. Melissa Etheridge presents a mini concert every day...I am becoming a fan and will go to a show of hers next time she plays in the area. I am surprised, actually, that Adam has not done more...he could if he wished....you do not need to play a guitar or piano...oh well...I do enjoy his vids...and I finally got my CD from Amazon, yesterday! With background only for New Eyes hehehe..... I am concerned about the Vegas concert....I am not convinced it will be safe to congregate in crowds for an extended length of time, even by then [hope to be big wrong]...especially in the US, quite frankly, where it seems much of the decision making is governed more by financial concerns than health...or perhaps I should say, health concerns are driven by finances. Same Difference. ~weak smile~ I am very happy to have this place to come and keep up...I am happy to read how other are handling things in different areas and countries. Best of health to you all! This too shall pass.

Thank you, Q3 for your explanation of the Passover tradition. I am not Jewish, but am familiar the story behind it. However, it was a wonderful reminder of its meaning, and it certainly applies in these very unsettling times. I have a Catholic background, and though I'm not what you would call a devout Catholic at all, I have always loved the tradition of Easter, and the hope and promise of "rebirth" that it always conveys. My Mother, who was very religious, died on her 91st birthday (April 7th) late on Holy Saturday night, right before Easter 13 years ago. It seemed to be a very uplifting time for her to pass away in spite of the sorrow of losing her.
We are all facing different challenges during this outbreak. I'm retired, but my husband, who is younger than me, is not. He is still employed and able to work from home, which is truly a blessing. So many are suffering by losing their jobs (so sorry DebAnne 5, Meggy Meg and others). My DH has significant underlying lung disease, so I fret constantly about him contracting this virus. I am older, and have mild asthma, which also puts me in danger if I become infected. It is a time of anxiety and worry, but I strive to be optimistic. How difficult that can be! I have family members in New York City and Seattle, as well as Houston and South Carolina. I pray that they remain healthy, as well as everyone here on Atop, along with millions of others.
Adam is my beacon of light during these trying times, and being able to come here every day is such a respite from what is going on in the world around us. I walk more, I'm eating healthier food from home, I'm finding more of my "inner self". These are the positive things about this outbreak on a personal level. I just hope that we can all get through this together, and I mourn for all of those who have lost loved ones. A time like no other during my lifetime, and it will change all of us in a myriad of ways. Hopefully we will become a more compassionate society.
Thank you, Adam, for giving us Velvet during this time. Hopefully, the concerts in Vegas in October will take place!

www.instagram.com/p/B-uee7gHyXP/?igshid=1pl0tq3ssen5wAdam liked. As a refresher this is the designer that custom made this coat and the long silver fringe jacket for Adam. And Adam told the story- Roger and Sarina are friends with him and introduced them at a party before the Oscars. Adam said it was the first time a designer asked him if he could do something for him for the tour. Of course he said yes. Wonder if he will do something new for next year! Edit he also liked Javi's post lol.

To expand on what I said earlier about getting laid off. I do consider myself fortunate compared to some other people I know. I'm fine money wise. If I have to I can tap my 401k or file for Social security. I'm hoping not to but if it goes long enough I might have to rethink my position. Hoping for Adam shows in Vegas but if he has to reschedule I'll roll with it especially since my flight credits are now good for 2 years.
On another note my 94 year old Mother is doing ok living with my 2 brothers. Not far away but we are staying clear to be safe. In the meantime they got the Easter goodies I sent them from Harry and David's!
Hope everyone can hang in there and still hoping to meet folks in Vegas!

I live just outside of Toronto in a lovely and quiet neighbourhood. I keep counting my blessings at this very difficult time.....both my husband and I retired so we do not have to go out and expose ourselves to this virus. Both my children and their families are also able to stay home which is a huge relief. I order groceries on line and because of some intuition I stocked up on everything: food, medicine, cleaning supplies, detergents etc. in February. My husband was laughing and shaking his head about the constant amazon deliveries......well I’m the one laughing now. I have a lovely backyard which will be well used as soon as the weather is a bit warmer and I also go for a long walk with my dogs each day. I have a daily routine which for me is very important and I try and accomplish something every day. Since my cleaning lady can not come, I must clean this very large house..... a chore I’m almost enjoying. I’m making a point to keep in touch with relatives and friends......especially those that are on their own or have some mental health challenges. I’ve decided to watch less news and to watch other things and also to read more. I finally have the time to try all my mother’s recipes as well as search for new ones. I’m very lucky that I don’t have to worry about finances but I must admit that I had a few sleepless nights when all my investments started to tank. Well I have decided to stop working, there is not much I can do. I miss my children and particularly my grandchildren who I used to seeing a few times a week......but isn’t FaceTime and Zoom wonderful. I just talked to my 2 year old granddaughter and even though she was more interested to see my dogs: Romeo and Roxy, bless her little heart she ended the call by saying, “I love you G’ma and G’pa”. Finally, thank you Adam for Velvet because I walk with your music in my ear every day and it always puts a spring in my steps. Stay in and stay safe......Happy Easter and Passover! 🙏❤️

I have been enjoying many Adam or Adam and Queen concerts on tv from Youtube. Went back and watched the EMA's that started it all. Even watched some of the Tokio Hotel videos and interviews that pop up when I bring up Adam related material. I have spent more time on my deck or in my backyard than I have in the last 3 years. I'm so not an outside in the yard type of gal, lol. It is not really bad in my state or locally (so far) but everything has been shutdown for sometime. I only go to the grocery store once every 3 weeks to try to do what the governor asks us to do and to try to help keep everyone safe.
In one of Adam's interviews, he said tho it was hard he was using some of the time to step back or something like that. With all the traveling he has been doing, it may be a good thing, under bad circumstances, that he can take a breath. But he is still giving many interviews and doing promotion. Many of the entertainers are not in the middle of an album release so they may do things a little differently. When he comes back in full force, we will likely appreciate it more than we already do. And like the rest of us, there are family and friends that he would worry about, including Brian and Roger. I too hope his Vegas shows will be a go but the European solo is to start Aug. 30th in the UK and that is about 5 months away. Hopefully everyone will continue to pull together and stay safe. The entertainment will eventually come back and take care of itself.
