Adam/Bruno's tweet. I am happy that they tweeted each other and the tweet is all about music. Bruno is very popular in Canada and he's already made at least 5 music videos. I hope Adam will have this level of exposure for his new music. I will never compare Adam with anybody vocally in the Pop scene, he just too far superior. I like Bruno a lot but Grenade always my favorite. But I think I will start to like this after hearing countless time on the radio. Jessie J also follow Adam after EMAs. Both Jessie and Bruno can sing live well and it even make me happier that they take Adam as a "friend"

Just wanted again to say welcome to all the delurkers we have seen in the past few days. And if English is a second language it is still OK to post and post often- we all struggle to express ourselves at times and if someone misunderstands your meaning they will ask and you can clarify. It's not so bad!!
So please do not let your notions of how well you write inhibit you from joining in the fun. I really really enjoy the thoughts and viewpoints from all over the world!

I got the Beg for Money email from Amazon today. Grrrr. But at least the description is fairly accurate, despite the deceiving album cover:
"Product Description Collection of pre-American Idol recordings. Shortly before he achieved global superstardom Adam and Madonna's guitarist, Monte Pittman, collaborated in the studio on a set of songs which give us an unfiltered view of an artist entering his prime. That material is now commercially available for the first time as the album Beg For Mercy. Sometimes referred to as the Citizen Vein Sessions, all of the songs on Beg For Mercy are originals, co-written by Adam and Monte. Adam's raw, honest vocals are perfectly supported by a superb pro team, including members of Madonna's band."

bringing from the late last night: Thanks for the link. Adam, I listened. I tried to hear what you hear in it. I tried to like it. Really. It just sounds..... meh. I find the melody to be boring and repetitive. Mars did write it in the "key of fuck" for his voice. Much of the song sounds like he is really straining to hit the notes. I can feel the tension in my body in sympathetic response to the tension in the voice. If I listen to the song without watching the video, I don't hear any emotional rise and fall, any arc to the song. It is all at the same level emotionally. Angst. Adam's songs, especially live, resemble the plot line of a good story. There is a beginning, a middle, a climax, and a resolve in the emotions of the song. It goes somewhere. It takes me somewhere. He is a master at interpretation. And, no matter whether the song is driving rock or a ballad, spans three octaves or just one, his voice always evokes a feeling of comfort and ease in my body. The notes just float or soar, but are never pushed out. His singing FEELS good. It is ironic that I have such a positive visceral reaction to his voice, and such a negative, tense reaction to a song like Bruno's. How is it that Adam can sing so "effortlessly" yet enjoy others who strain and push so hard? I don't get it. Some time back someone posted a link to an article on what makes a rock song popular or a smash hit. It mentioned three things: sung by a male, lots of high notes, and a sound of strain or push. The last puzzled me. Chatting with Angelina, the opera singer, she laughed and said she had seen that phenomenon with opera tenors. The push and strain on high notes they sometimes intentionally add. The reason she thinks it appeals is it sounds like sex. Think about it. She is probably right. I'll take the Adam Lambert sexy sound, tho'. Nothing sexier than Adam taking a song, soaring across those high notes, wringing every drop of emotion out of it, reaching a climax, then taking me back down. And, if he does it while wearing a long black leather coat, tight leggings, and knee high boots, so much the better. WTH is with Adam???? "Gorgeous melody and vocal!" - NO and NO. I swear - this was the last time I follow his advice and try to listen to whatever it is he decides to praise. From now on I am going to take these kind of tweets as his networking/PR effort.
