Looks like another three months of lockdown in LA. Good bye Europe velvet tour Where are you seeing 3 more months of lockdown for California? Europe may be iffy but Ticket master is still selling tickets for this year. Manchester Pride has been moved to 2021 so maybe this is the plan for the rest of the shows. I worry about the rescheduled Vegas shows. He didn't sound too optimistic in his interview.

I don't see myself traveling this year, not even for Adam.

I saw the 3-month lockdown for LA, too...as I was perusing the news, so I can't remember now where I saw it. But I guess that's what happens when you flock to the beaches prematurely, and do stuff you're not supposed to.
I don't see myself going anywhere any time soon, either. In fact, I'm trying to drop huge hints to our son who is supposed to get married in October in the Santa Rosa area...I'm feeling really, really stressed about it. We'll see what he decides to do.

I saw that article but I thought it said possibly until August not through August. Maybe that's splitting hairs. I also heard Adam's interview where he said he's not sure about Vegas. I won't be surprised at all if everything gets moved to next year. I have tickets to 2 Vegas shows. I'm keeping them since I plan to go whenever it is. I would be a lot more comfortable getting on a plane to Vegas than I would getting on a NYC subway. My sister lives in Manhattan she is just about putting on a hazmat suit to walk out the door still. I certainly have no problem with waiting until next year if that's what's best for everyone. Like Adam said safety and health is the most important thing. We'll see more music from him I'm sure.

Neil is a school teacher. He did go to Portland early on, but I don't think he is there now. Seems like he is in northern Cal. Where did you get that Neil is a teacher? I haven’t heard or read anything that hints in that direction. For all I know, he‘s a software engineer in Irvine/CA. He moved there last year, so he should live not far from their mother in Orange County. Neil is a software engineer? That surprises me. According to info by Adam many years ago, he studied political science at the University of Santa Cruz/CA (edit: I see now that many here have confirmed that) so he must have gotten a second degree then. Or may be he is self taught. Some are capable of doing that. I really do enjoy his snarky and blunt sense of humor/sarcasm and I could really see him in journalism or as a cool high school teacher. Working in tech probably pays better, but it might be a bit soulless for someone like him. Anyways, even if he worked as a teacher he would have had to go back to school after his Bachelors Degree.

Nowadays, people go to boot camps (what Neil went to). No degree required. Kinda makes those of us who spent 4-5 years getting the BS in that field feel a little strange.

I had no idea, but I was aware of the alternative ways of acquiring knowledge in that field. It is such a fast paced and fast lived industry, as you know.

Hubby is in IT...all self taught...never went to college for it. He's also a certified dog trainer...all self taught. He has learning disabilities and would never make it in college, but he can pretty much learn anything on his own. We have an entire library of books and videos on computers and dogs lol. Good thing our kids don't need their bedrooms anymore.

In fact, I'm trying to drop huge hints to our son who is supposed to get married in October in the Santa Rosa area...I'm feeling really, really stressed about it. We'll see what he decides to do. According to studies by John Hopkins, LA is the only county in California that made the top50 list of US counties in terms of confirmed Covid cases (#7), and it also made the top20 list for US counties in terms of cases of death (#9). Flocking to the beaches sure didn't help, but similarly to NYC it is a lot of people living densely together, which makes social distancing challenging, especially in poor neighborhoods. Mingling indoors without strict rules seems to be the breeding ground for the spread of the disease. Dancy's link that she posted the other day breaks if down really well. www.erinbromage.com/post/the-risks-know-them-avoid-themHere is the data by John Hopkins, which is one of several models. I am sure that Adam isn't happy about the prospects of being out and about again, not to even think about needed adjustments for his professional career. coronavirus.jhu.edu/us-map
