Finally, my life can be a bit more normal!! Over the past few months, I have worked harder than I even thought I could. Now, I get a bit of a break and hopefully can spend a bit more time catching up on what I missed! And about time! Enjoy some peace and time to rest. What better way to do that than to go down the Adam Rabbit Hole.....Enjoy...

I just listened to Trespassing the full album for the first time in forever. Maybe almost 8 years lol. I've never been one to play an entire album that much usually once or twice and then I'll go for select songs after that. My main song from this has always been Trespassing but I've forgotten how much I like Never Close our Eyes, Better than I Know Myself, and Underneath. I also realize how far Adam as come as an artist plus his voice is richer and fuller. Velvet is that much better. I've probably played the whole thing more than any other album I've ever had. It's really too bad his promo got blown up. Based on what he said about a therapist in the CNBC interview I get the impression he was pretty upset at the beginning. Really glad he's talking to someone he seems to be ok now. I really hope he's going to do some more music for us. I also noticed the original release date for Trespassing was supposed to be March 20 2012 then they moved it back to add a couple things. Fast forward 8 years to the release date for Velvet- March 20 2020. Coincidence? Maybe Anyway hope like hell I get to see him in Vegas whether it's this year or next year! I very much like select songs on Trespassing - Shady, Kickin In, Chokehold, Trespassing, Runnin (and pretty much all the bonus tracks) to be my favorites - yet just like you I have hardly ever played the whole album at once, as it still feels more like a "playlist" or selection of songs to me. With "Velvet" it is different. I listen to it from beginning to end and I pretty much stay in the "zone" all the way through. There are may be one or two songs that I would not play individually, but they blend in with the overall vibe. For me, "Velvet" is a solid step up in general and when it comes to cohesiveness and "musical identity", and lucky me that the vibe of those songs that I liked in Trespassing is mostly coming back in Velvet. Adam's voice... I am not an expert by any means but I know what I like ... his voice seems more "refined" now. It is effortless and rich in all its colors. I can definitely make that emotional connection when listening to the recordings, and still nothing beats seeing Adam life. Fingers crossed for Vegas to happen when it is safe to do so. I am still holding on to those tickets ... Interesting how you observed parallels with those release dates. May be March is a good time to target a release? Not sure. I know though that we have had a lot of "ish" dates lol.

Today I decided to watch the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert on YouTube (and of course donated, too). For me in 2020, it could also be sub-titled as "The Adam Lambert appreciation concert" even though he was only 10 years old on that day. And maybe as "The Brian May talent showcase", as he was playing several types of guitars and keys, singing both backing and lead vocals, and was even MC-ing the whole thing... Very few of the performances were on the level of any QAL concert from the last 6 years. I had to stop myself from rating the performers against Freddie and Adam. As everyone probably remembers, George Michael and Seal were probably the exceptions. Oh, and James Hetfield of Metallica was pretty good on Stone Cold Crazy.
