Why are they (AMA/DC company) compelled to give a press release about Adam when he is just a presenter? I don't see any press for other presenters.... performers, yes and even their sound check... unless: 1. they are trying to lure Adam's fans to watch the show 2. feel guilty about the way they treated Adam post AMA 2009 3. they finally recognize you can't ignore a world-wide star when you see one 4. cannot ignore the industry's flailing about the genius/amazing/extraordinary/one in 100 million/ unparalleled voice of AFL  All of the above  |

I love the lyrics.....so Adam. Yes, the "keep my mind off the edge" part reminds me of how he's talked about his relationship grounding him. (I know he didn't write this one - but he's talked about choosing songs he didn't write only if could relate to the lyrics.) I love the song - I'm SUPER-excited to hear him take that hook wherever he wants to and back. |

I have to say I am very disappointed that BTIKM is the first single. I was really hoping that it would be something new and exciting with lyrics written by Adam and with a great rhythmic drum line. I realize that this will sound much different with Adam's voice but it still sounds like every other song I hear on the radio. If their goal was to find another WWFM, I guess they succeeded. WWFM was one of my least favorite songs on FYE and I still skip over it when listening to it. I want Adam to shake up the radio world, not add to it's mediocrity. I'm hoping the reason he deleted his tweets is because they changed their mind about which single to use. A gal can dream, right? As soon as Adam said that he co-wrote all but 2 songs, it was a safe bet that the lead single would be something written by someone else. Adam and RCA cannot afford to take a risk with this lead single. They need something crowd-pleasing and suited to global pop radio -- simple lyrics, classic pop song structure, and a hook that people can learn quickly. This song is perfect. Adam is not going to "shake up the radio world". Pop radio is mass media designed for 15 to 29 year olds. It is not where people go for something new and different. I want Adam to have a lead single that is so popular that he gets a second follow-up hit before his album is released and his album sells like crazy. I have no doubt that we will get some great music on "Trespassing" but that is not going to get played on pop radio. In any case, this song has the potential to be a pop hit. That is the job of a lead single. |

And the Grammy nom just makes it so much more special. I didn't hear "mediocrity" at all. I love IIHY too. Radio loved WWFM and that's so important - radio play for Trespassing album. Yes, we are all different and that is why I love ATOP so much.  I guess I'm just not a "radio friendly" listener. I want something different and unique that will change the music world!!!! (It's all good, but I just want more). |
