wait....he actually said "thank you for letting me back on the show"? I'm going to have to re-watch that. Oh! AND I LOVED THE FINALE!! Great song and those guys are funny as hell!! :D (could have done without The Hoff and creepy, weird kid but I LOVED IT!! LOL. No. Adam said, "Well, it is great to be back on the AMA stage." Then he launched into his intro to One Republc OK, thanks........... so he said: "Well, it is great to be back on the AMA stage. Thank you guys very much" giggle, snicker? I just wanted to see if anyone was paying attention. Ha! Really, in my head, it seemed like he was thanking them for letting him come back on the show, sorry bout that. I wonder if Adam did think that he would never make it back on the AMAs, way back when? I think he actually said something about it on the Behind the Music special. I loved the finale too, thought it was fun, crowd was rocking out, even Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, and Selena Gomez. Bieber can dance, but I wonder if he is loosing his voice. David Hasseloff? Meh........ The LFMAO guy that stripped does NOT have a sexy body. They are kinda ugly, JMHO. Guess he was thanking the audience for their great reception and rousing applause when he came out. I like that scenario better.

Here is what the Announcer and Adam said.... Announcer: Currently, in the studio working on his new album, “Trespassing”, and tonight he returns to the American Music Awards for the first time since 2009, it’s Adam Lambert. Adam: Wow, has it been 2 years already? How time flies. Well it is great to be back on the AMA stage. Thank you guys, very much. (applause and cheers) The lead singer and main songwriter of this next band once said, “You’re only as good as your worst song.” Well, since all of their songs are masterpieces, they’ve got nothing to worry about. With their latest hit from their album, “Waking Up”, please welcome OneRepublic! ----- The "thank you" was to the audience.Yep.. I think he thanked the audience for the receptions they gave him!

I love that Adam was back on the AMAs, and that he wore the same suit. It was the perfect move, and even if they ever figure it out, there's nothing they can say about it.
But, sometimes, I feel like I'm off in my own bubble universe sometimes. Here's what I remember from 2009. We all know that Adam was upset by the Out fiasco. ABC kept harping on how shocking and spectacular Adam was going to be, plus watching all the acts that came before him, had to have added to the pressure.
So, he didn't stick to the script. He grabbed the one dancer and shoved the dancer's face in his crotch. He kissed Tommy. ABC did not object to the kiss. They objected to the simulated fellatio and the fact that he went off script. When the show played on the West coast, they cut the bit with the dancer, but they left the kiss in. If they had objected, it would have been cut. Had the off script bit just been the kiss, they probably would have been delighted with that controversy.
Someone who unfortunately had the power to make decisions panicked, and cancelled GMA. I don't see that as a decision from all of ABC - it happened too quickly. But, he was cancelled, and CBS thought they had a chance to pick up a bunch of viewers for their morning show. And that's when the fun really started, because they blurred the Adam/Tommy kiss, but not the Britney/Madonna kiss. It was CBS who objected to the kiss. They really do deserve a lot of the vilification here, not just ABC.
ABC, if they had had any sense, should have admitted that they rushed to judgement by cancelling GMA. Instead they cancelled any remaining appearances on their network. And that's what I find unforgivable by ABC, although apparently it never happened. Right. I do think that part of this was an attempt to punish him for not sticking to the script, hence the script comment from Adam tonight.
I was just as furious as everyone else back then. I tweeted the Pink video where she made the same move with a dancer to anyone I could think of, along with thousands of other Glamberts probably. I even sent ABC a copy of FYE. Someone suggested it on PF, and I was still angry enough to jump onto Amazon and buy it. Half an hour later, when I calmed down, I found that Amazon was already shipping it.
Now, the subject of being banned. He probably wasn't banned by the people directly involved with the AMAs. So they could be legitimate in saying he wasn't banned by the AMAs. But it's utter nonsense for Dick Clark productions and ABC to say the same thing. Somebody lit one hell of a fire under their butts to make the sudden change to welcoming him back on the show.
Again, not siding with ABC, CBS, or anyone else who was involved with this. I just like to be mad at the right people for their actions.

After watching the EMA vid again, I wonder if Adam watched it and realized how unique and incredible he looked rocking that Gareth Pugh coat and decided he'd work the same general silhouette again. He would have been taller than Taylor, by the way, if he'd worn his Rick Owens.

Not this week or even this year but sometime, somewhere, someone has to give Adam his own variety show - I think he could single handedly revive the genre. #justsayin

Have mentioned this a few times myself. After a few more years he'll know *everyone* in the business, and they will be happy to appear on his show because he's such a great talent and great person. Might like to see him do a movie or two first, though... #entitledfan

Were there any Red Carpet interviews with Adam? I haven't seen any. He was basically the last one on the carpet..no surprise..so I don't think any interviewers had a chance to talk with him. :( ETA: Hi! Shadow! Good to see you posting.
