Happy birthday to Brian May! Meeting him through Adam was a precious gift. Brian May is one of the most interesting favous person I've ever come to know. He and Adam are a joy to behold.
My fan club opinion: When I was a member of the official fan club some years back, I enjoyed it very much. Some tech problem blocked me and I can't get back on without further efforts. BUT, for me, being a member was a special thing. I was also active on fan sites like Atop from the beginning, and I am still active on a few, although Atop is my main one. But the official fan site made me feel like I was really supporting Adam. It's kind of the official circle. It was just $10 as it is now. Even if the "exclusive" news gets out there for all to see, it doesn't bother me all that much. That's going to happen regardless. I hope fans continue to join. Adam has a really supportive fan base, but it MUST GROW. I know we can get Adam news from many sources. One of my friends only uses Twitter for her news, and that's enough for her. But many of us want a more personal, emotional involvement with other fans that we come to know. The official fan club isn't really about the $10. That money goes to running the site. It's more about a sense of commitment, I guess. And some perks with merch and access to tickets, which is important to some fans, too.
