It occurred to me that we have a lot of new members here, have grown by over 200 since the early fall. I wonder if everyone knows about Adamtopia 1? Background: Adamtopia 1 was started by Q3 when Planet Fierce, our original blog site, went POOF! in August 2010 in the middle of a GNT concert. Q quickly came to the rescue with Adamtopia, and shortly thereafter most people found it. In Feb. 2011, right in the middle of the Grammys, the Adamtopia site crashed, and Q established the current Adamtopia. Adamtopia 1 is still open as an archiving reference. It has the daily news thread from August 28, 2010 to Feb. 11, 2011. The daily news is on the first 4 pages, after that are 60+ pages of spamming posts of all kinds of weird stuff. There is also a concert thread for all of the GNT concerts from Aug 28, 2010, till the end of the tour Dec. 16, 2010. Here is the link: adamtopia.proforums.org/
Q3 comment: Thanks for the history -- just to add a bit. The old site has been hacked by some moron selling purses and other crap. I keep banning them and they return. I plan to work on better defenses over the weekend -- but all of the old posts are intact. |

Adam is a megastar and no mention of AI Because Adam is SO different than anyone who has ever been on Idol. And because he did not win, I think he may have the easiest time of shedding the "reality show' contestant bias. I am not saying that he will not return and will not always say he is grateful. I just think it will be easier for people to think of him first as a Pop Star and not an ex idol contestant. |

Zinnia-name was already taken at Twitter and since I don't want to be a number I took another name, that silly Tiiqqu one and thought it didn't matter, I'm only gonna read a bit and never write or participate or anything like that. Now, some 5500 tweets later, I guess I was a bit wrong : . And about the Sauli stuff - you are welcome . I wish I'd have a bit more time for the stuff still not done there, but I have several RL things now going on and disturbing. |

AleksandraKv[/color] your obsession with Adam sounds perfectly normal to me! ;D  My oldest son saw my wall of old vinyl LP's yesterday and said he was really impressed with the LP's I had up there. He said, "Mom, I can't believe that because of Adam Lambert you know all these artists. Judas Priest...wow...I didn't even think you knew who they were." I then proceeded to tell him about Rob Halford introducing Adam at the GLAAD awards. My son was very surprised that I also had Iggy Pop, Adam Ant, and Gary Glitter Lp's on the wall. I love surprising him...this journey with AFL is so much FUN!! ;D 8-)

Don't know how to reply to a specific person, but you'll see this anyway. Thanks everyone for the warm welcome! I've become an Adam fan quite accidentaly. Let's say around six months ago I saw WWFM on VH1( or MTV), I liked it, but nothing more than that. To this day I can't remember what prompted me to Google him and I found his AI stuff. Man!!! I was ...shocked,delighted,awestruck...all at the same time! I kept listening to it over and over again, simply adoring every tone of his voice, every word that came out of his mouth, every expression on his face, the way he moved his body... everything about him appealed to me. I haven't felt that for anyone in a looong time. That was followed by months of watching and downloading every single GNT, FYE or interview video which gave me such pleasure that nobody in my surroundings could stand me anymore. I was criticised by my husband ( he got used to it eventually, still a little jealous,I think) ,my children (who started feeling seriously unloved), my parents, and my best friend who's ,I'm proud to say, recently caved under my ministrations and is on the best way to become a Glambert herself. One of the good moments was joining Twitter, where I luckily found a bunch of Adam addicts. It felt so good, knowing that I'm not crazy, that there are other people who loved him as well. Need I say how scarce are Adam fans in my country. I'm not even trying to find them. Twitter and internet in general help me feel like a citizen of the world. I've stopped cleaning the house/picking up after kids/watching TV/socialising(almost) because of him:))) To describe my feelings more elaborately would require much more space and time. Finally, I have to say that I'm so sorry I haven't been there from the very beginning. I can't imagine how it's been for the fans who've been there from the get-go. Because waiting for Trespassing is killing me! Need to stop now, before I scare someone off. I'm not crazy, I just love him so much and it's not like some passing fancy, I have very specific and concrete reasons for loving him. But some other time about that:))) YUP. Everything seems perfectly normal to me. EVERYTHING!  8-) |
