Thanks Wal It was a stupid one. I tripped over a branch in the pavement and hit my face on the sidewalk. Result...broken nose and broken front teeth, plus bruises and abrasions, but time will heal it. Oh my gosh!! That's nothing to sneeze at, please take care, and speedy recovery!!  Ouch!! I'm so sorry!! That cannot be fun.  Rest, heal and watch plenty of Adam vids to keep your spirits up.  GET WELL SOON!!! |

Falls like that are insulting to your dignity and embarrassing to explain. Many years ago, I was chasing my youngest with her lunch bag while she was running after the school bus. She tripped and I tripped over her. I landed on a rock and broke my femur and injured my hip. I do not know how to tell that story without feeling like an absolute idiot. |

THIS which is why I don't understand some of Queen's fans who would rather have no one sing than Freddie. My seven year old is a huge P!nk fan (yes, I'm careful about which songs she has access to  . P!nk did a cover of one of Queen's songs during a televised concert , I converted the YouTube to MP3 for her... now she knows many of Queen's songs and loves them. Preventing the songs from being sung by other artist, IMO causes the music to die for the next generation and starts to nullify the influence. Based on the almost unanimous positive response that Adam received on QUEEN fan sites, my impression is that most core QUEEN fans are fine with someone sing these songs if they do it well and do not "mock" Freddy or pretend to be Freddy. my sister is a big Queen fan and a casual Adam fan. But she didn't like the performance. Not because she thinks Adam was bad but she thinks his voice didn't suited the songs. She also thinks that Freddie Mercurys personality, charisma and voice made Queen so special and that noone should sing this songs, because noone can match Freddie. I totally disagree with her. Apart from that I think Adam was fantastic and noone could have suited better, such collaborations have to happen, just because if they do not, Queens music would die sooner or later. I have not known much about Queen before the EMA, their biggest hits sounded familiar and Freddie death because of AIDS but not more. Just because of this performance I listened to their songs and liked them. And if this is not a good reason for a collaboration than I don't know what else. I do not think that she was aware of what her wish, that noone else but Freddie should sing the songs, implies and I did not argue with her cause I knew that usually it does not help, but causes her to stick to her opinion even more. Just wanted to share this but had not much time since the EMAs and seeing it discussed today, i did it now. Going back to page 3. |

With Serbia jumping on board, I think we now have around 32 countries and territories represented here on this little forum!!!   USA, Canada, England, Germany, Finland, Denmark, Scotland, Spain, Portugal, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Greece, Italy, Austria, Guam, Malaysia, Singapore, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Sweden, Serbia, India, Argentina, Mexico, Israel, Croatia, Poland, Romania, Latvia, France, and Dominican Republic!!             [sits back and waits patiently (?) for some more Canucks to jump in...][ponders why, when we have SO MANY European countries, there's nobody here from France...] |
