I hadn’t noticed, that this was yesterday’s thread, so I reposted these news on today’s thread. Maybe we should take the discussion there. Well, here we go: Some real Adam News! Watch that Trailer! youtu.be/Zdha2OfhGzk

San Fransisco has the Transamerica Pyramid building - very distinctive - It's the one on the left and you'll see it in both pics Q3 posted. I was wondering if it was a church steeple. Now I know! Is there any smoke where you are? Yep, red sun before sunset (too hazy to see the sun at sunset) and enough smoke during the day to stare at the sun and to lower the temperature 10 degrees. Sometimes can see haze between houses other times just the planes flying overhead (we are on a flight approach) are grayed out. Our weather people say we are getting the northern california fires smoke. We've got a few fires in the state closing roads too but that smoke is all headed up to banff/calgary etc.

Jablea It hasn't been too bad here the last few days. I think Vancouver has it a lot worse. We've also got some fog happening which makes it tricky to figure out what is fog and what is particulate. It doesn't smell smoky now, so that's a good thing.

It doesn't smell smoky now, so that's a good thing. It's been cool enough with the sun being shaded that I can leave my windows open and not turn on the air conditioner. And then I turn around and walk the dogs or something with a mask on, even drove my car the other day with a mask as the car air conditioner is broken. Doesn't really make sense when I'm letting in all that smoky air into my house anyway. It just seems smokier when actually outside - maybe my window screens are secretly filtering the air? ha - My furnace filter is getting a bit of a workout -can't turn the furnace fan completely off. #mindovermatter Hopefully some of your fog will grab the particulates in the air and give you some acid rain. There's some terminology we haven't had to visit for a few decades.

Jablea Yes, I remember acid rain was the big topic in environmental studies in high school. We didn't even know then that the hole in the ozone layer was looming ahead! And now look at the planet!! At least, the ozone layer seems happy! It has been raining here so who knows what came down?? We keep our windows closed so no smoke inside. However, the temperature is much lower here. We had that faint pinkish light bathing the kitchen at breakfast this morning which makes everything rather pretty. HAH!
