How is this Adam's tv debut acting role? He did 5 or 6 episodes of Glee and RHPS (he was great on both). Even a guest on Pretty Little Liars.

It is still not his debut tv acting role. I'm sure all of the Glee cast and RHPS cast members consider them acting roles even when they sing. So does everyone else, lol. In fact the press often makes the point that Adam had acting roles on Glee and RHPS and they refer to him as an actor and singer and songwriter. Even so, I'm just glad he got another acting opportunity to add to his resume. The more chances and credits he gets for acting may open more doors for him. So it is all good.

Well, the Glee and Pretty Little Liars roles were basically centered around being a singer and leaned heavily into Adam's stage persona, while RHPS was a caricature in a song-and-dance production number. We don't know how big a supporting actor role this is for the series, but it's not dependent upon singing, and is predicated (I hope) upon being an average human being.

I don't think that was the case with Glee at all. "Starchild" may have been OTT in an Adam-esque stage way - although really only the "Marry the Night" performance was like that - but Elliott Gilbert wasn't. He was the nice, steady, reasonable, mature presence surrounded by drama, sometimes much to his dismay. Definitely a real person as opposed to a caricature.

I would not diminish what Adam has done. Even for the small parts. He has to start somewhere. I laugh at all the press he got for the cameo in BR. And he got much better reviews for his portrayal of Rock N Roll Eddie than Lavern and most of the rest of the cast for RHPS. And I don't believe that just any singer could have done that. He played the part well that he was hired to play. I thought Laverne was pretty bad. And with all the guest stars on Glee, they all got credit even if they were singers in real life. Ricky Martin and others. And Adam. They acted. And Adam received good reviews from the press. Even Adam has said he wants more acting roles so obviously he is proud of what the has done so far. Fans say that too. After Carrie Underwood was so awful in The Sound of Music (her singing was fine but her acting was terrible as were her reviews) I haven't heard her mention wanting more acting jobs. When Idols get Broadway gigs that require singing, they are still credited with being actors in a Broadway show. Adam is simply adding to his acting credits so I see no reason to take any away. The more chances to build his resume the better, imo. Shosh could have easily said a first non singing acting role. Not a big deal tho. But an acting role with singing is still an acting role. It is recognized in Hollywood that way. And there are no separate rules for Adam so I will not dismiss them. I'm sure he will list them all on his resume for acting experience and not just the one, lol. But really happy for him that he is getting more exposure and another acting role. Very exciting.
