I am really upset too. But we can't talk about some things that are of interest so we are stuck with old/older straight women stalking a gay man's personal relationships, lol. I am all for Adam having a personal interest but it would be nice to wait until he has something he wants to share about who he is dating. But giving him some privacy does not seem to be an option so here we are yet again. See my post -- topic is OK as long as you all don't get into the politics of the situation. Thanks Q3. My heart is really heavy. I had to turn off the news last night and watch a bunch of Adam videos on my tv. RBG was such an inspiration and a great woman. I have been listening to more about her today tho. Very sad.

Maybe politics aside, we could honor a great women who opened the doors for equality in the workplace for women.. She also fought for equal pay...there are places that maybe we can all come together and say thank you for what there is agreement on. Yes, you may. Thank you

I think my deepest grief is about losing yet another person with honor and integrity, as with John Lewis before her, and Elijah Cummings before him, etc etc etc. There seem to be so few people like that these days. I was thinking the same thing for a bit -- and then I realized that we have moved from the age of pioneers (the "firsts") to the next period -- a period of action and achievement. We have a long, long way to achieve gender equality but it is now a majority opinion that it is right that people be treated equally in much of the world -- and even in the USA. I am working on a fourth-wave feminism (FWF) project now. FWF is a kind of feminism that began around 2012 and is characterized by a focus on the empowerment of women and is centered on intersectionality and is in digital space. Through this project I have met some amazing people who are doing amazing things, none of whom will probably ever be famous. I am mostly focused on technical and digital equality and not so much on Intersectionality which I am really just starting to understand. Intersectionality is a theoretical framework for understanding how aspects of a person's social and political identities (e.g., gender, sex, race, class, sexuality, religion, disability, physical appearance, height, etc.) combine to create unique modes of discrimination and privilege. Women, LGBTQ, racial minorities, large people, small people, and so on, all face different modes of discrimination.My point is, there is a lot of great work being done, but we have moved to dealing with systematic problems that involve deep culture -- and are far more challenging to change. And, yet, the people doing this work are likely to never become famous. ** On a related note, if you have not seen the mini-series Mrs. America on Hulu. It is free and I recommend it. It's Rosh Hashanah -- the start of the new year. {I need to go to services now -- online ones of course.}
I would like to think of new beginnings today and how we can start a new year with a new blank page.
I am working to be optimistic and see new possibilities today.
So, even if you are not Jewish, perhaps you can pretend for one day.

I just want to iterate my immense sadness at the death of RBG. She was a beacon of trust and hope to all women in the world, and to all who value justice and equality for all. She did not just belong to the US but to all of us and her presence was, and absence will, be felt for many years to come. I am sad and concerned.

Just saw the name Gareth Pugh. I remember that he was the designer of the long black coat Adam wore for that momentous first performance at the Belfast EMAs.... I loved the look that night - so completely different from the boy on Idol. Edgy, rock star. Even the Frankengump.... (was that the word?)

Sad news about Ruth Bader Ginsburg...all the more reason for joining you in hoping for new beginnings in these dark times.

I am saddened about the death ot rbg as Well!!! I saw the biopic about her. It was interesting to learn about her life. (On a shallow Note: the eye Candy that is Armie Hammer is always a plus ) youtu.be/28dHbIR_NB4Ot but i really hope that people don't become wreckless in the "Wiesenzeit" about Corona. Thank you Q3 for sharing that jewish Holiday. Admittetdly i know nothing about that culture.
