The feud is still real lol...Clay fans will ALWAYS vote to see Clay above Adam. They were pretty unhappy when they discovered the poll and saw that Clay was far behind. But kudos to them for giving it that much effort. Since Clay isn't doing anything and hasn't done anything for quite a while, they have plenty of time lol. They are still butt hurt that Adam has had more success than Clay. Clay should have kept his mouth shut about Adam's performance of ROF. He sounded a little bitchy and jealous in my opinion and his fans are just as rabid as MM fans when it comes to bringing Adam down. It's so childish but that's the real world! lol

I didn't know anything about Clay fans until there was some site that listed Adam as the #2 out of 100 best rock vocalists in the world. Clay's fans were not insisting that Clay should be included in the top 100 somewhere but that he should be #2 instead of Adam. Go figure. Finally they were told that Clay was not rock and he was not going to be on the list period. And when Adam was given the GLAAD award they were angry cause it should have been Clay. In all the years that they had the GLAAD awards it could have been given to Clay before they even heard of Adam, if they wanted him to have one. But they were only mad and insisting it should have been awarded to Clay the year Adam won. HA. I know it is just a fun poll but Clay has insulted Idol so often that they have never had him back as even a mentor.

I thought he was a decent guy on idol and I did like his voice but after Idol he turned real nasty. He bit the hand that fed him. I guess he did well on Broadway for a while but no real individual success after his first album.

Even putting aside my personal distaste for Clay Aiken, I still don't know in what universe he'd be considered a perfect candidate to be an American Idol judge. He's a smart, articulate guy, I'll give him that, but that isn't enough. For one thing, he has absolutely zero relevance in the current entertainment world. None. For another, he has often commented on his distaste for contemporary music, and I'm assuming his knowledge of contemporary music is lacking as well. Finally, if the theory is that he'd be a good judge because he's an AI alumnus, that doesn't work, either. The American Idol of Season 2 is nothing like the American Idol of Season 18, or whatever the hell the new season is. Back in the day, it was a more straightforward singing competition, without the pressure for contestants to "flip" songs to "make them their own." I have my doubts Clay could have competed as effectively during a later season.
This poll, and the current results, encapsulate why these click bait polls irritate me. For Clay to be in contention only signifies he has a group of rabid fans who are willing to spend ridiculous amounts of time voting. To be honest, I think Adam's high showing in a lot of these polls over singers with much more chart success signifies the same thing. Or it could be a matter of fans of those more popular artists not caring about these polls as much - they don't need to. Or it could be a bit of both. In any event, if a poll isn't "one and done," which they never are because a genuine result isn't the point, they don't mean much, IMO.
