Ugh! The AMA's pop up where you least expect it. Will that page ever get turned? I know, it is a part of Adam's story so live with it and be happy about it, I've been told lol. It is still something I scroll past whenever I watch the Queen and Adam documentary for the 100th time. It just ruins a beautiful story for me. HA.

Did you not get that the story was how important is was to him as a gay man to have Adam singing that song in response to the backlash of the AMA's? How can it ruin the story when it is integral to the story for that fan?

He was talking kind of fast but I didn't think he said Adam sang that song at the AMA's but that Adam sang at the AMA's and there was backlash. He was saying that WWFM in response to the backlash meant a lot to him. He kind of had to mention the AMA backlash in order to get across what the song meant to him.

And I will continue to scroll past it on TSMGO doc. cause it does ruin a beautiful story for me. But I guess I should have kept it to myself, lol.

No that's not what I meant but in this case the story isn't Adam's story it is the story of what the song meant to that fan. I can understand you feeling that it ruins Adam's story although I don't agree. My point was that this isn't Adam's story it is the fan's story. That is why I couldn't understand your comment. It comes across as you dismissing the fan's personal story. I see now that is probably not what your intention was. Thank you for clarifying.

The AMAs will be part of Adam's history forever. It was a pivotal moment, like it or not. And Adam is fully aware of that fact. It changed the trajectory of his career in a heartbeat. Gotta give him credit for the artist he has become in the aftermath.

Gotta give him credit for the artist he has become in the aftermath. This is true and I said that in my original post. Yes it did change his career and slowed down his progress in the US and made things harder for him. He has done very well for himself, and no one has tried to take any credit from Adam, but it did hurt him in this country. For me I will always hate it but others are free to feel differently if they want. There is no changing my reaction to it and we will not all feel the same. I didn't attack the man as it means something to him. And if it means something to Adam and others that is fine. I wasn't trying to tell anyone else to dislike it cause I do, lol. I wasn't trying to tell others what they should feel about or the importance of the AMA's.

No. I was not dismissing the man as I didn't bring him up. I was only reacting to how I feel about the AMA's. No hidden meaning or extra meaning to be added. I said how I feel about the AMA's. And the inclusion ruined TSMGO story for ME (the Kelly clip is not something I would need to watch again). There is nothing to disagree about cause it is the way I feel (not how someone else feels) and yes I pass it by when I watch the doc. every time.

I am not disagreeing, I am saying how I feel. When Adam kissed Tommy at the AMAs I felt like he’d scored a touchdown. If it hurt his marketability in some aspects, imo so be it. But it helped - did not hurt - for example, this man, the one in Kelly’s audience. To me there is more happy than sad about it all because - again, to me - ultimately it was about Adam’s freedom to express himself whether aspects of the public liked it or didn’t. It is painful that he got backlash - it is painful gay people live with all kinds of backlash all the time. But Adam did not and does not let that dictate his choices too much, for which I am very glad.
