RCA picks up pre-release promo pace

RCA continued their pre-release promotion of Adam’s new single with previews with leading DJs and PDs. This is a typical promotional tactic but what is not typical is that the normally somewhat jaded radio personalities seem to be actually excited about Adam’s new music.
The rushed release schedule for FYE did not give RCA any time to include Adam’s new singles in the quarterly radio promotional meetings. They just pushed the music out to radio with insufficient prep time. This is so much better.

Pharrell Williams Says Adam Lambert “Has a Voice Like a Siren”

Photo: The Neptunes producer and musician is working closely with Idol alum Adam Lambert on his second album.
American Idol alum Adam Lambert keeps the delightful sonic surprises coming — first with his controversial 2009 AMAs performance, and now with his collaboration with Neptunes producer Pharrell Williams. Pharrell is working with Glambert on his second album, Trespassing, due out in early 2012. The album also features the handiwork of hit master Dr. Luke and pop stars Britney Spears and Katy Perry.
In a recent Rolling Stone interview, the two musicians gush about each other. "This kid has a voice like a siren — there's no guys singing in that Steve Winwood- Peter Cetera range," Pharrell says about Adam’s vocal range.

Lambert has revealed he’s pulling out the big guns for his next album, Trespassing. Enlisting the services of A-list producers Pharrell Williams and Dr. Luke, Lambert is taking his music in a new direction, and we’ve been warned — there will be dancing.
In an interview with Rolling Stone, Lambert describes his new musical direction as a bit of dubstep, a bit of electronica, and even some “Nine Inch Nails meets Saturday Night Fever” sounds mixed in there. It’s not all about partying and clubbing, though, as Lambert makes it patently clear that his album will retain his trademark depth and boundary-pushing material. “There’s party music, sex music, f****d-up-relationship S&M music,” he tells RS. “But every song explores something real.”
