What are the characteristics of "singing in the musical theater style"? The things I hear that are different from his rock singing include: + A precise singing of notes in such a fast song, with no bending the notes, or sliding into them, or dragging the note or phrase, or adding a bluesy embellishment + Precise articulation +A pure vocal tone without the twang or edgy sharpness that sounds more piercing +No rasping, no breathiness, no grit to his voice Not sure I can describe it better. But listening to this, not knowing Adam's other work, one would never suspect he could sound like he does in AOBTD or Red House. Does that make sense? Yes! But now we need a 2 hour video full of examples of Adam doing all these things with his voice! What a master class in singing that would be!!!
