The search and auditions were for members of a Queen tribute band to play as part of the Queen Extravaganza which will be a touring retrospective of Queens work. These people will not be touring with Queen or playing with Queen- they are a completely separate gig and in NO way related to anything Adam may or may not be doing. LATE TO THE PARTY was busy with RL ..but had to comment on my comment from several pages back. I jumped from page 18 to here so I have to go back and catch up on the last pages of the thread.Oh yes I definitely knew they were sourcing/chosen for the tribute band as that was what the conversation had been about in the thread... citing the three Canadians had been chosen for the tribute band. I just leaped in and did not make my intent very clear. I was trying to make the analogy that.... however Adam is choosing his band...it is more discrete. Roger's team (Queen) accepted audition tapes from all over the world for the tribute band, and got some really good people. The point is there are awesome people out there but how far is Adam willing to cast his net to source out people for the tour band... if it will in fact, differ from the the promo band, that seems to be developing. Did they advertise???...if they advertised this time...our ninja's haven't gotten a good whiff...some speculation going on, but not many facts. I wonder if the people helping / recommending for Adam may have to be drawing more from "who knows who". Last time a man was heading up the search musicians for Adam. As we know someone/friend contacted Tommy regarding an opportunity to audition. Casting a big net may get some good instrumentalists plus the ability to do back-up vocals. If a future guitar player is added, vocal ability would be a real plus. Or, Adam can cast a smaller net, surround himself with people who are good at what they do and who, when they are all on the 100th date of the next tour, are there to play for him on stage, help him through the ups and downs off stage, make him smile when he may not feel like it, and still want to see one another and have dinner a month after tour #2 is over. How many times did we hear during GNT, "I didn't notice that, all I noticed was Adam." Yes, he needs competent musicians, great would be a bonus, but one great guitar-playing asshole can ruin the whole vibe. Married to a musician = knows how easily this can happen.

Every now and again, a comment about symmetry and beauty comes up. I have always thought Adam has a very symmetrical face which is beautiful, so a long time ago I used a picture where he is looking straight into the camera and with the aid of Paint give his face two left sides and two right sides. Certainly they are not identical but it still looks like him both ways. Of course it also freaked people out a little bit too. This is very late, and a little off topic in the midst of probable release date squeeing, but I'm glad this was posted. This is so interesting to me because early in my Adam stanning, about the same time I was wondering how the same person could look so different for each appearance, I started to notice that his profile appears a bit different depending on which side is photographed. I especially noticed it in shots that are not quite a profile, basically a 3/4 view. I definitely think that there is that subtle asymmetry to his face. You can especially notice it in the eyes in the pics that LindaG manipulated/posted above. But I think what I noticed in his partial profile has more to do with his nose and (to a lesser degree, I think), his mouth, which also differ slightly from one side to the other. Just like most people have a 'good side' that they prefer to be photographed from, I think that one of Adam's profiles is slightly more gorgeous than the other one. But it's been a while since I've thought about/studied that. If I remember correctly, I think it was his left right(!) profile that I preferred. Which kind of jives with Chunkey's comment about the 2 left sides looking like his slightly less attractive brother with a criminal record, lol. I'm too tired to really research this now, but it was fun to see this. And to me, from the front he definitely looks most gorgeous in the 'real' pic with his actual, slightly asymmetrical face. Duh, of course. Also...loved the Roger Taylor quotes that were posted today -- 'magnificent', 'sensational'!!! <3 I'm not sure my logical brain is working at the moment, but it seems amusing to me (although I completely understand it) that Adam had to do damage control today because of *too many* rapturous comments. Lol. Very exciting about the possibility of single news tomorrow! And re the band news/rumors...mostly have a wait and see attitude, but it's kind of exciting to hear things starting to happen and I'm curious to see how it all works out. I like the look/bio of the presumed new bassist. And I like the idea of Tommy on guitar -- whether it's rhythm or lead. I trust Adam's judgement, whatever he decides. And Cam and Isaac are fine. Will not miss Monte. At all. He was a good guitarist, but completely lacking in charisma and soul, imo. He was definitely, for me, the least appealing and least interesting band member. Minus a few exceptional moments (WLL Fantasy Springs, and a few acoustic performances, and maybe one or two others), I was bored and slightly repelled by him. Ugh. Even before the latest revelations about his character. I did like Zak, and Lisa, and Longineau, but I guess they're unlikely to be back. Well maybe Zak. That would be good actually. And while it's absolutely true that Adam doesn't NEED anyone else on stage with him -- yes, he is a solo artist, essentially -- BUT he is also an artist who values collaboration and it seems very important to him that he have people on stage with him who he likes, respects, and trusts. And who work well together. Should be very interesting to see what he comes up with for this next era. ETA: Ah, I see this was being discussed as I was writing the above tome, lol. Just glanced at what was being said, but I agree with the thought that Adam has the resources and the respect to get some amazing musicians to work with him, whether occasionally or as a regular part of the tour band. As I already said, can't wait to see what he comes up with/what happens. And I'm sure I, for one, can't even imagine most of it! Off to read posts and then sleep. Carry on.

Yup!!All we want is his happiness. A fit is better than just being good! I was just truly amazed by the talent demonstated on the youtubes of some of the musicians and singers trying out for the Queen tribute band.

You may have a point, but isn't the usual complaint that the main event comes way too soon? See, I agree, Adam seems to know just how it's done to achieve the best possible result. I guess that depends on what grabs your libido... For me (for you), at this point he's being a giant tease and that's no fun for anyone after about the first 30 minutes (oh and we're onto about hour 5 about now)...

I think he is an intern just like he said and he got carried away with all the attention he was getting. But I think his basic facts were right. Press release tomorrow (Friday) and single premiere on radio early next week, probably Monday or Tuesday. An appearance on TV within the next 2 weeks, then it goes to i-Tunes. Aren't you forgetting that Glamazon waxed on for days about BTIKM being reworked into a club banger with a dubstep breakdown and a bunch of wailing? Pretty much the opposite of what's been said by known industry people who have actually heard it. And before Glamazon came along, that DJ Toby had already told us to expect news at the end of this week. Not too hard for Glamazon to pick Friday as a pretty safe, logical guess since that's what we were all theorizing on twitter anyway.

Duh, of course. I looked thru hundreds of photos when I was making my calendar. Several of the months had collages and I began to notice the preponderance of profile and semi-profile photos I had chosen, a large majority of them of the left side of his face. Did photographers choose those photos because that was his "better" side? Or did I unconsciously gravitate toward them in my selections? Don't know. But, I had to re-do several of the collages so that half the pictures weren't looking to the left. Interesting.

I don't know why people think Dub Step can't be mid tempo or why a mid tempo song can't have a club sound??!!!
