Since many on this board, ADAMROCKS for one, love Tina Turner (and Adam has performed a couple of Tina’s iconic moves from time to time) I just wanted to mention that she has two new books out, probably capitalizing on her R&R Hall of Fame nomination. Not trying to sell her books, just wanting to bring awareness...perhaps other Tina fans already know this. Tina is 81 years young! I’ve seen her live and like Adam, she’s a wonder.
Happiness Becomes You: A Guide to Changing Your Life for Good Hardcover – December 1, 2020 ( Amazon editorial editor’s pick) on using Buddhist principles to live a more fulfilled life.
Your other new book, "Tina: That's My Life" (Rizzoli), is like a scrapbook of joyful moments from your career — worldwide performances, legendary photo shoots, iconic costumes and fashions and more—contains letters from famous friends and 320 pp of costumes, etc. (quote from interview posted on Yahoo today.)

Thanks Linda for the info on the new Tina books...I'll check them out. HBO is doing a new doc film coming out later this month.
I only saw Tina one time and other than QAL...it was the best show and production I had ever seen. I think she was around 60....the farewell tour I think.
I wasn't aware of her health problems.....from Wikipedia.....I hadn't read "My Love Story"
Turner revealed in her 2018 memoir My Love Story that she had suffered life-threatening illnesses.[224] In 2013, three weeks after her wedding to Erwin Bach, she suffered a stroke and had to learn to walk again. In 2016, she was diagnosed with intestinal cancer. Turner opted for homeopathic remedies to treat her high blood pressure that resulted in damage to her kidneys and eventual kidney failure. Her chances of receiving a kidney were low, and she was urged to start dialysis. She considered assisted suicide and signed up to be a member of Exit, but Bach offered to donate a kidney for her transplant. Turner had kidney transplant surgery on April 7, 2017.[1

TINA----Simply the best!!! This song of hers, especially, has always touched the core of my soul. No matter what's going on, whenever I hear it, I stop in my tracks and my heart starts dancing and lifting to a place of absolute JOY! Thank you for posting it. I needed this today.  |
