I really have tried to stay away from the political conversations here. I am not comfortable with any LABELS. I find them narrowing and trying to put people in the 'DREADED LITTLE BOX'. I keep thinking about Adam's words and when I hear labels attached to someone/group I keep thinking...LABELS don't define who we are...we are all so much more than a label. There are so many different levels inside each of us to celebrate. I'm fine with this gig Adam might be doing. Let the people feel Adam's magic and maybe he can awaken some 'understanding' in some at this party that we are all brother's and sister's trying to enjoy life in this world. LOL! I didn't mean to sound preachy! AMEN! I was thinking just the same thing. |

And sorry for being political, but the right wing is who have attacked gays and made it one of the primary the platforms of the Republican party and the rhetoric they use is most definitely hateful. YMMV, but no rationalizations and "my best friend is gay" defenses while you are making it your party's primary cause to deny civil rights to a huge segment of the citizenry will not come across as hateful to me. They are questioning their entire right to exist. Individuals may not agree, but they have been utterly powerless standing up to the party's platform. The "separate but equal" rationalization in the '60s was blatant racism and this is a blatant attack on an entire minority. It just is. Wholeheartedly agree.....just rationalization IMO Jumping on the bandwagon here. I acknowledge that not all individual Republicans are anti-marriage equality, and for that matter not all individual Democrats are pro-marriage equality, so from that standpoint I agree with those who reminded us that we shouldn't make sweeping statements about any group of people. But anyone who is against gay marriage is denying someone else the same rights they enjoy and defining them as second-class citizens. Religious beliefs are no excuse. Anyone with even a sketchy knowledge of history knows that over the centuries, religion has been used to defend torture, slavery, child abuse, and other things that any thinking person should know are wrong. |

All I gotta say about this single release is -- I think NASA has an easier time launching a rocket to the moon. Geez. I would think it's a global drill that happens quite frequently in the industry. Perhaps RCA just has too much on their platter or their people are just aren't efficient enough. It just seems like this mystery and intrigue is a little stupid and way overdone. Seriously, I'm losing interest. Not in the music or Adam but in the friggin' drama.

I have no idea what is going on with Adam's promo and the single launch date. For months there have been hints that any minute now -- then something changes. My IMPRESSION now is that they (RCA+DMG) are doing something very unusual with the single release and that something they are planning is not completely put together. Some of the big US stations know part of what is planned but are not aloud to say anything. Whatever is planned is a public event -- nothing to do with the Amway event. But the rumor is that it is international and in Asia Pacific -- and that is coming from radio folks who know nothing about Amway. So perhaps..... Adam had the gig with Amway on his schedule. He was going to be in Asia so put something together in Asia to promote the single/album. In any case, I am starting to lower my expectations for off radio promotion -- and raise my expectations for traditional radio promo -- which is "King Joe's" specialty. And clearly he supports this single. ++++ Regarding the issues with the forum that some people are experiencing, it is not a server issue but may be related to a forum software upgrade. I am checking it out now.
I wanted to spend some time hitting my head against the Adam new wall before I dealt with anything technical on the site. So let me now bang my head against another wall. 
I'll update you shortly and, in the meantime, thank you for your patience. |
