Can one of you wonderful peeps help this Twitter-impaired person? I have an account strictly to follow AFL, and have not tweeted. All the confusing announcements from all directions caused me to tweet Shoshanna. But I don't see my tweet in the feed? Is that the way it works? I see what others have tweeted her but not my own message? Sorry if I sound 'duhhhhh'......but I guess when it comes to Twitter..... Thanks in advance!!! Love you guys!!! Hmm, does the tweet show up in your feed? And I'm guessing you did a search on @shoshannastone. Maybe you need to refresh or it was quickly buried with other tweets? I would first make sure there are no typos in her name. One incorrect letter and it won't show in her @replies.

At the top of the feed when you're looking at someone mentions, there is an option to select "Top" or if you click on that word (which is the default) then you can select "All." See if you can find your tweet that way.

Ok, this is OT but I'm so happy! Box got delivered this morning with all the music nicknacks I ordered! The kidlet is getting a music-themed present for the holidays and I was I was going batty trying to find some really stupidly basic stuff in the stores. How hard should it be to find a pencil with some notes on it or a freaking music sticker? I went to the local music store, nada. The toy stores, nada. Hell, practically nothing on Amazon. Literally, I wanted some 50 cent items, was willing to pay decent bucks to find anything, and there was nuthn'. Finally did a Google search and found a website that was a literal treasure trove for anything music related. 50 styles of music-themed pencils! Drum keys with skulls and crossbones. Miniature instruments of whatever you could imagine. Single sheets of score wrapping paper for a quarter. Etc etc etc. [snicker] I went kinda nuts. ;D But my kid will have lots of cool stuff to go with her mini-keyboard, which is her "big" present for Hannuka (and my way of continuing to cop-out from accepting the stiff-keyed piano my mom keeps nagging me to move out of her basement ). Hey, I accepted one of those stiff keyed pianos from my mother years ago and one of my kids ended up pursuing a career in music. Watch out if it ever makes it into your home, lol. [grin] Yeah, but this particular piano is REALLY stiff, as in hard-to-play stiff. My kid loves banging on the other pianos in the family including the beloved baby grand that my parents inherited from my grandfather (hence the reason the upright under contention is unused in the basement). Its actually a pretty decent piano, but I remember my hands just aching every time I played it, and I was pretty good once-upon-a-time. I don't want my four-year old turned off by music because she's forced to play an instrument that needs a heck of lot more muscle power than any small kid is capable of providing. I'd rather she start on a keyboard (and the Casio I found even has narrower-than-standard keys that will fit her hands), than deal with that particular piano. Plus with a keyboard, I don't have to figure out where to relocate bookshelves or deal with a piano mover! [snicker] That said, for that day in the (hopefully far, far, far, far) future when I might get the baby grand.....I'll make space.

I have no angst about the single or roll-out, or promo events. Whatever will happen will happen, I'm sure they are thinking it through on several levels to do what's best for Adam, I really am zen about it. Also I don't really want to dive into the larger political issues surrounding this private event which have already been pretty clearly outlined with multiple perspectives given. I do want to say one thing though. I knew about this company's and the founders' (very significant, far more significant in terms of money and effecting legislation than WBC for example) political impacts long long before hearing about Adam. There have been exposes in Business Week, Mother Jones Magazine, Molly Ivins has written about them, Rolling Stone has written about the founder as part of a larger article, etc. The LGBT press no doubt is aware of them. My fervent hope is that there is no media awareness of this event. My other fervent hope is that the real promo provides youtubes of Adam singing his single elsewhere or the radio version is out there before people are tempted to start spreading around video of Adam performing at this private event on the chance that any should surface. I'm really really glad that for most Adam fans this doesn't seem like it's a big deal. I'm just urging a little caution in assuming that that would be a universal response. I have to admit that while I rarely worry about Adam, and I share your hope that this event goes unnoticed. That said, I am almost certain that none of the DeVos' or Amway corporate management knew about this booking. So it amounts to the local Japanese team picking a famous, popular artist, with a #1 hit in Japan, to perform at an event. Really no negative story there. Just my little wish -- I hope that DeVos Sr. learns about it, and decides to pay Adam double not to perform. And he decides to do a private ATop holiday concert instead. ;D

Is there anyone here old enough to remember the civil rights movement of the 60's? I keep having flashbacks to that time because the LGBT community is attempting to get their civil rights. It is unfortunate they have to fight for them. As Americans they should already have them.
African-Americans had a non-violent leader fighting for legislation in Congress that would give them equal rights. He, however, was killed. Remember Martin Luther King. Following that the militant African-Americans in this country picked up weapons and began non-violent sit-ins here and there across the country. I lived in Ithaca NY at the time, and I remember the African-American students with machine guns taking over their student union. No one was killed or hurt, but I think the message was clear all over the world that it was time to give African-Americans their civil rights. (This is my interpretation of what happened. I am sure others have their own interpretation.)
Ultimately, thanks to the democrats, the civil rights legislation was passed. Republicans had to be coerced into voting for the legislation. Very few did. At least this is my memory.
I feel like history is about to repeat itself, and I am scared to death there will be violence before the LGBT community gets those civil rights. I know in a few years, Adam will be the leader of this movement. Can't we all see that coming? When he goes to this Amway gig, I want him to take his own security, and his own food, or hire a taste tester. The agenda of the Republicans is well known. You can say all Republicans don't think the same, and I believe that there are Republicans that speak the truth and do want civil rights for the LGBT community. However, unless you are one of the money-men in this country your agenda and ideas to change this country are not important to them. All the men who are giving money to groups to fight this legislation are Republicans. You can check that statement, and I would be willing to bet 99% of those men are Republicans and have a hand in running this country.
Why any of our American brothers and sisters have to fight for rights that belong to them already is abominable. I know I sound like a crazy, paranoid person, but the Christian history of this planet is very violent.

I just re-read what I wrote and I feel stupid. But I am scared and I think about what is happening in this country all the time. It is probably my old age. Just take my words with a grain of salt. I put them out there so nothing will happen. Sometimes when I don't let out what is bothering me, it will happen. If I put it out there, it is just silliness. I am hoping I am just a silly old lady when I worry about the LGBT community. They have been so unfairly maligned and abused over the years. It has to stop.

Thanks, SusieFierce and NoAngel for the suggestions. I did click on 'All'. Must be doing something else wrong. Not a big thing. Since I am sure I got the twittername correct (just clicked on her @etc.), I will trust that it went thru.
Thanks again!
PS: WITWIAFL?!?!?! while all this kvetching is going on in the fandom? Fans are tiring of the teasing, from what I see them tweeting to Shoshanna AND Adam himself.
I KNOW I will love the single, but I am exhausted and wanna get off this freakin' rollercoaster!!!

JMHO but I really think people need to take a deep breath and not panic. This private gig is for money, that's it. I don't usually use this phrase, but truly don't think it's that deep.
