Is there anyone here old enough to remember the civil rights movement of the 60's? I keep having flashbacks to that time because the LGBT community is attempting to get their civil rights. It is unfortunate they have to fight for them. As Americans they should already have them. African-Americans had a non-violent leader fighting for legislation in Congress that would give them equal rights. He, however, was killed. Remember Martin Luther King. Following that the militant African-Americans in this country picked up weapons and began non-violent sit-ins here and there across the country. I lived in Ithaca NY at the time, and I remember the African-American students with machine guns taking over their student union. No one was killed or hurt, but I think the message was clear all over the world that it was time to give African-Americans their civil rights. (This is my interpretation of what happened. I am sure others have their own interpretation.) Ultimately, thanks to the democrats, the civil rights legislation was passed. Republicans had to be coerced into voting for the legislation. Very few did. At least this is my memory. I feel like history is about to repeat itself, and I am scared to death there will be violence before the LGBT community gets those civil rights. I know in a few years, Adam will be the leader of this movement. Can't we all see that coming? When he goes to this Amway gig, I want him to take his own security, and his own food, or hire a taste tester. The agenda of the Republicans is well known. You can say all Republicans don't think the same, and I believe that there are Republicans that speak the truth and do want civil rights for the LGBT community. However, unless you are one of the money-men in this country your agenda and ideas to change this country are not important to them. All the men who are giving money to groups to fight this legislation are Republicans. You can check that statement, and I would be willing to bet 99% of those men are Republicans and have a hand in running this country. Why any of our American brothers and sisters have to fight for rights that belong to them already is abominable. I know I sound like a crazy, paranoid person, but the Christian history of this planet is very violent. I have to disagree with you just in one point. I don't think Adam will be the leader and I wouldn't want it, because he is an entertainer not a politian. But Adam will be/is an important part in the movement, especially, if his fame becomes even bigger. |

There are no reported server issues right now. I'll PM a couple suggestions to you. ETA: Just saw Adamrocks' comment -- odd. I am having no issue posting. And the host has no reported issues. So perhaps it is smurfs!! Bringing this over from last night because, Q3, there are most definitely issues with the server here. Too many people are having them for it to be everyone's own computer issue. I guess I'm one of them who don't have this problem :-/ |

JMHO but I really think people need to take a deep breath and not panic. This private gig is for money, that's it. I don't usually use this phrase, but truly don't think it's that deep. I agree. I understand that artists do private gigs like this all the time and for multitudes of different corporations and groups and I never read or hear about any of them. I think Adam's fans are the ones running around spreading the news on twitter and every place else and yelling the sky is falling - the sky is falling. If there is any negative publicity about this gig, I think fans will have started and perpetuated it. :-/ |
