Whether one enjoys the overt sexual representation that videos like Montero and WAP portray, it must be incredibly liberating for those whom it represents. I'm happy for Adam and a little sad at the same time because of all he had to suppress. Would he have made a Montero, I don't know, but I wish he had had the option. I've only watched WAP once and although it is not my thing, I have had a wet ass pussy at one time or another in my life and enjoyed it as much as any man's hard on. So, talking or rapping about it is fine with me. Even more fine is watching conservative hypocrisy clutch its pearls. I have kind of had it with white male 'hetro' sexual supremacy.THAT I can definitely agree with...especially these days.

Adam has been in the business a long time. If he had wanted to make some kind of OTT videos he would have done it by now. He still could if that were what he wanted. What would stop him? But he has never seemed that interested in taking off his clothes or being an exhibitionist. Imo, he is sexy enough without getting half naked. Still not impressed by Levine and Jonas, lol. Different acts, talents and goals. Different ways of seeking attention and making a statement. He has his way and others have theirs. I think he advances his beliefs and love for his community thru his actions, foundation, advocacy and support of others in his community. His art and great talent are for everyone. His fans and his new Queen fans love him as he is. And yes he has helped to move the needle for others to do THEIR thing the way they want. But I'm proud of him for being Adam and not trying to be someone else in the moment. He is a great role model with extraordinary talent and he is enough.

At the end of the day, Adam's appreciation of the Montero video has little to do with how he presents himself to his wider audience of hetero ladies, and what they find to be sexy. It's that someone finally got to present a musical story from a gay point of view, without a filter. From another conversation today, I saw a woman, my age, who grew up in Catholic school, came out in college, married her wife who is a priest. When asked about all the religious imagery in the video, she responded "that's been my whole life."
LilNazX' video may owe more to "WAP" then to "Bloom", and it's not that I see myself watching it much more. But if I do, it is for the story, as presented from his perspective, and not for the appeal to what I find to be sexy. (Well, that was heavy - so much for music as entertainment.)
