This always happens...every single time. People would like to think that so and so is THE person that propels a movement forward...and conveniently forget that there were lots and lots of people before them that made it possible. Just like everything else, it's always the newest and the shiniest object. Until the next new and shiny object.

Some delicious video nuggets today! Thank you so much that clip of "Beth" that Adam did on Idol. It was a favorite moment for me. If any viewer had their doubts about Adam being "different" and "special in a millions ways, they were certainly assured that it was true. I love that tiny version of "Beth" so much.
It looks like a lot of Adam's time recently has been taken up with that TV pilot with Kelly Osbourne. It hope that's the case. Hope there's a future for that show, although we know very little about it at this point. Just want Adam to get involved in some successful projects.
And since it was posted above, I will comment on the legalization of marijuana in New York: It's about time.
As for Lil Nas X, it is frustrating when a newcomer gets big accolades for being a "trailblazer" when so many have come before them. I supposed the same can be said for Adam. He's certainly not the first to make inroads for the LGBTQ community, but he is a significant factor. I think his role with grow larger over time.

This always happens...every single time. People would like to think that so and so is THE person that propels a movement forward... and conveniently forget that there were lots and lots of people before them that made it possible. Just like everything else, it's always the newest and the shiniest object.Until the next new and shiny object. Yep. It happens every time. One gay artist is pitted against another as if hey can't have different talents and personas and timing just like straight artists.
When Ada Vox was on Idol the rub was that Ada was way bolder than Adam. Well there was a reason Adam Lambert didn't come on Idol and perform in a dress and heavy makeup and trying to look like a woman. He was not a drag queen and there was no reason to present himself as such. That was Ada's thing. Had nothing to do with boldness. But Adam got more press and attention by being Adam and showcasing HIS talent.
Then there was that gay writer who wrote for Huffington Post. He was so thrilled that SS was doing so great and getting lots of radio play, unlike Adam he gloated. Why would he be so happy that Adam did not get the same treatment when he came on the scene? If Adam had waited until he had a top charting song before he came out (not an option for him) things might have been easier for him too. There were not many who were out when first signed and released their first singles to radio.
Then there was Troye who was billed as so much bolder than Adam and others and was going to change the world for gay artists. They quickly forgot all the gay artists who came before him and made it just a little easier for him to do things his way. They were just as gay as Troye but different talents and personas. Sorta like their straight counterparts. They don't all need to present themselves the same way nor should they be required to. You don't need to be a character or wear women's clothing or be a stereotype to be gay. If that is what you want it is fine. But you can't make those choices for others or pretend they are somehow less gay or had little impact on this changing world. I always felt they all had a right to be different and showcase their talents and abilities their own way. Not a big fan of SS but never thought less of him because he was unlike Adam and missing a rock star persona. They are very different artists but there is a place for both of them as gay artists or artists in general. In fact, I wish them all well, LNX, Sam, Troye. Not a major fan of either of them, or their styles, but they have fans who love them too so it is all good.

Apparently there can only be one gay superstar artist at a time.. no room in music for more or for diversity...And when that star is
chosen the music industry has done their part for equality
Kind of like I'm not bigoted I have a gay friend...token gay anyone.
There are so many great gay artists...I still think gay artists need to do something like Motown did.. Become independent and develop
their own music, their own music stations, etc. HMM rethinking this.. The gay community would have to support a gay music industry.. they often don't seem to be inclined to support their own artists.. I guess this might not work.. Oh well still thinking..
