TBH, I would be more surprised if Adam took part in this. In the past, when they have had these group duet type events, there was no Carrie and no Adam. They always seem to be invited to more high profile Idol events. Solo performances and/or duets with an Idol in the finale. Adam has done the duet finale twice. Those two have had more solo invites than all others. And of course as mentors, Carrie once and Adam 3 times and a judge once. Well, as usual, you made me feel better, lurleene. It's true that Adam has had some very favorable guest spots on Idol over the years, so I guess I shouldn't complain. Sometimes it just seems like Adam has some force-field surrounding him that Idol doesn't want to penetrate. I guess I'm still a bit crabby that he wasn't asked to be an official judge. He says he was never asked. Makes no sense in my book. Maybe the finalists will again have a chance to request a special duet partner. They've done that in the past. I don't know why it sticks in my craw so much. I don't watch the show. But it does get ratings and is good exposure. There! My blood pressure is down and I'm calm. LOl HA! I get it. We want Adam in everything and everywhere. Funny tho last year before the pandemic hit, Lionel said to Lyndsey Parker that he wanted to do "We Are the World" with the Idol contestants. Of course Lyndsey could not let it go with that so she suggested including alums. I don't remember which of the the two mentioned Carrie and Adam. My first thought was good luck getting those two in an Idol sing along, lol. Of course anything is possible but I was doubtful. By the finale, the pandemic was in full swing and they did "We are the World" with the contestants and many less high profile Idols virtually. There were so many and they only had bit parts to sing as Lionel carried it the most. My guess is that but for the pandemic, Adam would have been brought back to sing something from the Velvet album release as he did when New Eyes was just out. Not sure if he would even be interested this season unless someone wants him to perform with someone on the finale. |

Voted for Adam for The Voice coach thing. Whatever you might think about the singing shows (and I watch none of them), they are high-profile for anyone who is a judge or a coach or a mentor, etc. It would be great if Adam got to do this. It doesn't seem like it would take that much time. Scheduling is everything.
Great to see "Ratatouille" nominated for Outstanding Digital Concert Production! Adam had a pretty major role in that show and he was outstanding. Hope it wins!
