O.K so I just saw BTW and I had to comment.Feel free to scroll if this has been discussed to death. I'm going to have to quote Simon on this one: Born This Way:The good, the bad and the ugly. The good: I loved the unicorn.I loved the Thierry Mugler collaboration.I think it was beautifully shot .The dance scenes were fun. The bad: The birth scenes and introduction .A. viewers are smarter than that.C'mon .B.It doesn't matter how you look at it-it's freaky. C. it's just SO pretentious. The ugly: the whole alien thing. It just doesn't look good.I love Sci-Fi but isn't the song about celebrating humans? I was expecting a new twist on Michel Jackson's Black or white but O.K. I really don't think the video had a lot to do with the song except for the introduction. Besides, I really didn't feel this video was cohesive. IA, I watched the BTW video. I do not find the images disturbing - just weird. I thought the song was about celebrating human variations and instead we got pseudo aliens. I loved Bad Romance video and hated Telephone and Alejandro. BTW is just meh to me. I am not shocked or surprised any more from LG imagery. I expect the bizarre and weird. A subdue/stripped down video from her will be refreshing.

adamlambert Adam Lambert Wow new Gaga video is wild and weird! I love the super 60's psychedelic intro. Like Barbarella meets Alien. Not that it matters, but it's interesting to me that while he didn't say that he loved the entire video, he did point out the things that he DID like. Did anyone else take his tweet that way? Yes, that's the way I interpreted it as well. It's "wild and weird" which can be taken different ways but as always, he adds something clearly positive. Like when he commented on Bieber and Usher at the Grammys, saying the singing was meh but the dancing was sick. Being a bit more careful here with LG however.

Cooch!! Ha, I haven’t heard that one in ages. Since I am 100% vagina clutcher and 0% pearl clutcher I'm going to go right ahead and call a vagina a vagina. The prominence of birthing and the vagina in this video makes me think that her point is that women, more specifically mothers will be the change that our world needs. That for an individual to find acceptance and inclusion no matter how different or weird they may seem, women will be the catalysts of this change. I love this interpretation of the video, and that's how I will view it!

ITA crazylady. He didn't say the video was sick, he said it was weird and wild and I agree. I like the Barbarella look but the alien thing is too WTF for me. I do give her credit on being brave when it comes to showing the birth scenes.

Good morning.
I actually find the video catchy and fun when it gets to the dancey part. My problem is that Gaga, in her weirdness, has become predictable.. that's why Adam doesn't bore me. He understands the value of changing it up, probably because he, himself, doesn't like being placed in a box. Gaga's "manifesto" may be seen as pretentious or as brilliant. It can only be judged by your own beliefs and sensibilities. For me, this treatment was exactly what I would expect from Gaga based on the direction she's been heading. Therefore, I take it as just another video glorifying the Gagoddess. Wow, look at her, she looks great in her underwear. Wow, she can dance and she is a pretty good singer, too. Wow, I love the special effects. I can give her all of that.
What she DOESN'T get from me is my heart.

One issue I have with the LG video is that the song is so ordinary that it just doesn't support the bizarreness/artsyness of the intro. It's a jarring mismatch and makes the song seem even more mediocre than it already did.

OK SO I FINALLY WATCHED THE BTW VIDEO. HERE IS MY REVIEW:
If you chose to watch only ONE big budget piece of self important, trying waaay too hard crap this year--make it Lady Gaga's 'Born This Way' video. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll watch weird things plop outta Lady Gaga's vagina like a yeast infection gone horribly wrong, and you'll wait and wait for the subway kids to emerge so they can "embrace their truth" but alas, they will never come.
THE END.
