I don't think he could have been more than 21 and built very much like Adam, long legs included. People couldn't take their eyes off him. And he was sweet and smiling, too. I think of him every time I see this picture of Adam. |

Well, I just think it's a symbol, like "monster". The song is the first level - you were "Born this Way," gay or otherwise different. But accepting that and seeing yourself (and others) as beautiful is a CHOICE. In the vid, to me, that choice is an act of self re-creation. She gives birth to herself - as a part of a new, "alien," race that is accepting within the human race that is not. It's her - only . . . pointier in the cheekbones and shoulders. And she gives birth to the gun as a symbol of the CHOICE to defend and protect herself and the "new" race. But for me to try to articulate that in words is very weak - the visuals do it better and evoke tons of other things for other viewers, I think. Or they don't. I think you articulated very well. I was not able to interpret the whole shebang so glad you could for me. |

That video is disturbing but brilliant. Like it and her, or not, she has just proven herself brave and incredibly daring! She will be chewed up and spit out by ... can't guess how many...and accused of unimaginable nasties. I have never been a particular fan of hers but that was really a risk. When Adam takes a risk we applaud him to the moon so if we applaud risk over mundane, we have to credit Gaga with bravery whether or not we 'like' her technique. She did not have to get this aggressive making her point...JMHO. I am really interested in what is going to happen now! haven't caught up on today's thread but this comment caught my attention. I don't think what Gaga did was risky at all. She's known for pushing the envelope as far as she can. I think her images of birth or whatever the hell that was supposed to be will outrage the same people who were outraged by her and Beyonce murdering people in the dinner during Telephone and have a red cross splashed across her vag during Alejandro. I would have much preferred her to show a diverse group of fans and people around the world singing the song. This shouldn't be just another excuse for Gaga to do OTT production and dance around her in bra and panties (which btw, nice stealing of Britney signature stripper moves LOL) When Adam takes a risk it will be because he's actually making a statement and yes we'll applaud him because unlike heterosexual females who can pretty much masturbate on television, Adam is held to a much different standard and his risk might actually cost him something. now back to reading |
