 From 4.15.21 but just a great way to start the day! ‘Legendary’: HBO Max’s Ballroom Competition Series Gets Season 2 Premiere DateBy Denise Petski, Senior Managing Editor April 16, 2021 10:02am HBO Max has slotted Thursday, May 6 for the Season 2 premiere of Legendary, the hit reality competition series that puts the spotlight on ballroom culture. Ballroom legend Leiomy Maldonado, fashion stylist Law Roach, actress Jameela Jamil and rapper Megan Thee Stallion return as judges for Season 2, along with Dashaun Wesley as ballroom MC. This season features ten new houses igniting the catwalk to battle for the legendary trophy and the $100,000 cash prize. Each episode is a themed extravaganza to see who will be named superior house and move one step closer to becoming “Legendary.” Maldonado, Roach, Jamil and Megan Thee Stallion will be joined this season by guest judges including Tiffany Haddish, Taraji P. Henson, Amiyah Scott, Nicco Annan, Normani, Adam Lambert and Demi Lovato to decide the winner. Legendary celebrates ballroom culture which started in New York as a subculture that served as a safe haven for the LGBTQ community — primarily for Black and Latinx people. The series brings the culture to the masses as we see families or “Houses” fashion and dance challenges including vogueing for the chance to snatch the trophy and win the cash prize. Well, I do recognize a few names of the guest judges on the ballroom show. Demi Levato, Megan Thee Stallion, and a few others. This is definitely an LGBTQ culture thing, not mainstream. Glad Adam has a guest judge spot along with some other recognized names.
Waiting and hoping we get to hear him sing in some capacity before too long. I know he'll be working Starstruck pretty soon. That will be fun!

I know QAL will tour UK/Europe in 2022. Not expecting a US tour but I want to put it out there that I hope they will consider another Vegas (a longer one) Residency in the US. I think the demand would be there when things are safe. Even in the UK they have scheduled 10+ dates, several in Germany and one or two in other European countries. Their tours in the US have been for 20+ dates and more than any other countries. So I believe the US fans would come and some from Canada. And as much as I would love for Adam to get another chance at a Vegas Residency, I know it will take some time for him to get his Rock and Roll album out and a tour for that and Velvet will not come together very fast. And perhaps he can get a Residency scheduled along with a tour.
It feels good to finally have my two shots!!! With them giving shots to everyone over 16 now there is hope in the air.

I've been in mourning lately thinking about the Vegas residency that Adam lost due to COVID. Those shows would have really given him some high-profile media attention with this OWN music. But you are exactly right. If he does get another solo Vegas residency it will be a long time coming. But the thought of a QAL Vegas residency is very exciting! I think the US fans would be very ready for it. And QAL will likely not be doing a US tour again any time soon. And a successful series of QAL shows in Vegas could very well grease the wheels for an Adam solo series again, too. After all. his Vegas tickets were selling very well from what I remember. These are the dream scenarios that I keep thinking about. Hopefully, the other projects he has going behind the scenes will give him some added visibility, too. I've had my two shots, too. So relieved they are over with. And yes, the expansion to everyone over 16 is a real bonus. "Normal" is out there somewhere just waiting to appear again! |

I've also thought a lot about Vegas and the tours overall. Still so disappointed. I had tickets for 2 shows, was planning on a third and I'm just as disappointed I didn't get to meet people. My credit with Delta is good until December 2022 so hopefully I will get a chance to use them. If nothing else comes up I'll go to NY to see my sister but I imagine I'll do that at some point anyway.
Definitely thinking positive as more and more people get shots!
