People asked me to report on my experience with my 2nd Moderna vaccine shot. I got the shot at 3:30 pm on Friday. About 22 hours later I developed a fever that hovered around 100 F but went as high as 100.4 F. I stayed in bed most of the day except to feed the cats. I had very little appetite myself. I fell asleep a bit after 8 pm. When I woke this morning about 6:30 am, my temperature was in a normal range, although still slightly higher than my normal, and has been hovering aroud 98 F all morning. I sleep well last night, even had some weird dream about teaching a class on Newton. Still a bit tired today, but much better than yesterday when I was completely worn out all day.
My friend says her fever developed sooner than mine did and peaked at 101.5 F.

We're getting ours on May 5...hoping for a mild response. Our son, 31, had a fever that fluctuated between 103 and 104. He called the Kaiser nurse because Tylenol wasn't bringing it down, so she told him to try Ibuprofen instead and that helped a bit. He said he felt completely out of it, couldn't focus, couldn't concentrate on anything. His girlfriend fared slightly better, but not by much. They both felt much better the next day. But it took about 3 days before they were back to completely normal.

My son had no issues with his first Moderna, but with his second, he was very sore and achy and tired. No fever, but the reaction was much worse than the first shot. I had Pfizers with nothing more than a little soreness in my arm. Some people react differently with each vaccine. My doc said that a bit of soreness means that the vaccine is doing its job getting into your system. Fun seeing some great Adam pix and vids today! Looking forward to more when he's finished taping those shows he's going to be on. I love following his career with all its twists and turns. It's like a long-running TV series that examines a person's whole life. For me, it's not just about the singing, although that's THE major thing. But Adam has taught be so many things that don't have anything to do with singing. His gifts are valuable and numerous.

DH and I had the 2 Pfizers and zero side effects other than you could feel the injection site slightly. DH thinks the doses were "bad" and probably thawed out too long....lol.

I've had my two Pfizer vaccinations, and had a negative reaction to both shots. I usually have the unusual side effects to drugs, foods, vaccines, etc, mostly because I have a mast cell disorder (mast cells are important immune system cells). I had bad GI side effects (mainly diarrhea and abdominal cramps, no nausea), especially with the first shot. Took some prophylactic antidiarrheal meds before the second one, which helped. In doing some reading, turns out that about 10% of Pfizer vaccine recipients report diarrhea as a side effect, but they classified their symptoms as mild. Mine would be in the moderate category - about 1% reported that degree (leave it to me to be in the 1% group!). More reported nausea instead of diarrhea with the Moderna vaccine. I had terrible fatigue from both shots and just felt lousy, which lasted about a week. No fever, chills, muscle aches (except a sore arm at the vaccination site). The people giving the shots recommended getting your vaccine in your dominant arm, and move that arm a lot after your vaccination. I really think that helped with my sore arm. My DH had the Pfizer vaccine, and had mild fatigue from both shots which lasted only about a day or two. No fever or chills. He had a really sore arm both times, but was not given the advice to move his arm a lot (he was vaccinated before me due to his underlying condition of moderate to severe asthma). I am very relieved to have had both of my shots!!
Oh, I too am still lamenting the loss of Adam's Vegas residency! I had tickets to three of the shows, and I am desperately hoping that Adam will plan another one as his schedule allows after live shows are a possibility again. I so enjoyed the Queen Vegas residency (went to three shows), and would be overjoyed if they did another one. Am I remembering correctly that Brian said he really didn't enjoy that residency as much as regular touring? However, the landscape of live shows has certainly changed due to this horrible pandemic, so maybe Queen will consider another Vegas residency. Hopefully QAL's summer tour will be possible. Adam, I want to see you perform live again, solo or with Queen!!

animaldoc, sounds like your vaccines were pretty rough on you. Glad you have finally recovered. The woman who gave me my second shot also said to move my arm around a bit. It helps distribute the vaccine through the veins and may help it from getting too sore. I was lucky and had little pain, but just a bit of advice to others that moving the arm around can maybe help.
Would love for Adam to get another chance at Vegas with a solo show. Please!
