Lurleene, I do think that Adam being treated as a "character" is a little bit on Adam too. He's posted some pretty crazy pics and instas where even we, as fans, go WTH is he doing? Crazy outfits, crazy makeup, just plain weird sometimes. It's not all on interviewers or magazines. If he wanted to be nothing but serious, he would make sure that all his interviews and social media posts were nothing but serious. But he's multifaceted, so you get a little bit of everything.
I do agree that in the beginning, he kept getting questions about other stars, and makeup, but I don't really think that's been the case the last few years.
Some fans like serious, minimal makeup Adam who only talks about music, but "crazy" Adam keeps coming out to play. That's on Adam, IMO.

svca I agree. Adam has many sides to his personality and he is willing to share them with the public. Journalists looking for a story often gravitate to his less mainstream image. I wish the journalist who put the article together had chatted with a Glambert first. We could have suggested some great covers. I'm thinking of Stay by Rihanna, Is this Love by Bob Marley, and Wicked Game by Chris Isaak, in particular.

Crazy outfits, crazy makeup, just plain weird sometimes. HA! I wasn't thinking about his sometimes crazy outfits when he is having fun or bored, lol. I was thinking more of some of the publications who would jump on him for not being "Bold" like Troye or L'il NasX. When George Michael passed, there was even one publication that said Adam did not measure up to being bold like George. Why, because he did not get caught trying to pick up men in the bathroom? From the beginning of Adam's career he was comfortable dating a man openly. George was in a different situation. So yes I get a bit annoyed when they try to make him a "character" of their fantasy play instead of the incredible artist that he is. So him being called a vocal legend was music to my ears, lol.

I think as the years have gone by, Adam has learned how to control a situation, whether it's a live interview or a printed interview. He's learned more about what to say and what not to say. Sure, he enjoys pushing the envelope, both in his appearance and in his conversations and in his media postings and his stage performances. Does he always "get it right?" Probably not. But he's pretty savvy about the effect of what he says and does. One thing about Adam is that he is extremely honest. He doesn't try to fib his way through anything. Personally, I like the edgier Adam every bit as much as I like the more conventional Adam. He chooses his persona to either make a point, or just be silly, or to push buttons. He's got confidence and he uses it.
