Well, I guess we assume that the new rules for the Grammys will help Adam? I hope so. I'm not sure I understand the whole revision, TBH. If Adam could at least have a better chance of getting at least a nomination in the pop or rock or even alternative categories, that would at least be something. He can't seem to even get a nom even though his songs and albums get very positive reviews from major music publications. Whatever might help him get a better shot is ok with me. Love them or hate them, Grammy noms and wins DO give an artist huge cred.
Love that photo of Adam and Brian. The first show of their 2022 tour will be greeted with immense love from the audience. It will be a roar heard 'round the world!
Dragon Attack!

I don't see how the new rules would have helped Velvet as he entered in the pop category. Adam's music was hardly heard. The only difference in the pop categories would have been the addition of people like Weeknd (pop and R&B) and Halsey. I can't see any way where acts like Beyonce, Adele, Taylor, Post Malone, pop divas, rap artists will not continue to get the nominations. Acts like Harry Styles, who tried to enter in rock when he first went solo, will now likely get in there along with pop. The voters are still going to need to be aware of you to vote and they are unlikely to votes for acts that are barely heard, imo. But we can hope!

The only thing we can do is what we've been doing. Buying, streaming, downloading, voting, being very active on social media about Adam and his career, making the media aware of Adam in every way possible. It's not just about buying an album anymore.

Is there a category for these? - I found a "musical theater album" category, perhaps it'll fit.

I think we're beating our heads against the wall...as far as the Grammys are concerned. Adam has a management team, let them do their job. I don't think whatever new rules the Grammys are adopting are going to make any big difference.
I think Velvet is done and dusted...hopefully Adam is looking ahead to new music.

I don’t get all the fuss about the Grammys. None of the musicians that I use to listen to did ever win a Grammy. I listen to the music that I like and don’t check, if that music has won a prize. Having no Grammy hasn’t stopped Queen from becoming the most successful rock band on the planet either. I guess, it’s nice for the musician, who win. But in the end this „competition“ doesn’t matter to music fans.

Yep. It is just speculation about the impact of the changes. We don't even know if Adam will have music out to qualify the next time or if he will go for something other than pop. But I would think Adam would like to win a Grammy. He was so excited the time he was nominated. So it makes sense that fans would want that for him too. I'm not so interested in his love life (he can take care of that) but would love to see his music recognized by more than just us fans.
