Yippee, I was just shot down by my own son, I really needed cheering up. I am returning ALL his Xmas presents and ripping up his check!!!!!!!! Bah Humbug (kidding- still love him- but he must be adopted ;D) Well we have to remember music is HIGHLY SUBJECTIVE. I mean to each their own ya know. Not everyone is gonna like it and I have no issues with people that do as long as they live in REALITY unlike certain butthurt people that shall remain nameless. People will either love the song, be MEH about it and then have it grow on them (Coincidentally I didn't care much for WWFM and it grew on me), or they will never like it. In the end it doesn't really matter because look at all the pop stars that release music...not everyone loves their stuff and they still do fine. I can't stand most of Bruno's stuff and Gaga's era this time around was a hot mess for me, and Katy's TGIF song I thought was terrible...but they are doing fine. Adam just needs a hit or two that radio loves to cement himself and I think this song has a good chance of doing so. I am seeing a lot of positive buzz abt it so far =) Well said Chunkey! ITA well except for TGIF... loved that video. Laughed my ass off. Katy was the perfect dork in it. |

Nice..bet they were hopping to get that baby online..sound quality is great! Agree, smart and necessary move..didn't know AO could move that fast..  So maybe this leak was planned by the label to build up anticipation before the official release? In any case, smart move. Duberville, congrats, I'm sure you'll do great!  |

Alright....I have to admit on first listen of this song this morning, I was just a tad disappointed (like maybe a 0.000000000000000000000000000001% out of 100%) in the delivery of the vocals in the verses. I know I probably shouldn't have, but while waiting for this to leak, I've been listening to the Claude Kelly demo a lot, imagining Adam singing it. And the two parts in the demo that I was hoping and thinking that Adam would change, is that you-ou-ou/know-ow-ow part in the 1st/2nd verses, and was all, "hmm...." when I found out he didn't.
BUT BUT!!! When the bridge kicked, I just....OMG, my eyes actually teared up, that part just sounds so vulnerable, so emotional, so beautiful! Then...I listened to it again, and again, and got over my itsy bitsy, semi, hardly there, hangup, and forgot all about not liking the parts I said I didn't like, and was just falling in love, harder and harder which each listen.
And I'm glad I that I really love the song, and not in a I-haven't-heard-anything-new-from-Adam-in-awhile-so-being-starved-of-course-I'll-love-anything-new-he-put-out. Usually when I'm on the fence about a song of Adam's I feel good when fans say something positive about it, because it helps me to like it, and then feel bad when fans/distractors say something negative, because in the back of my mind, I have some of those same feelings.
When that Get Over It clip came out, I was firmly, in the do not want, and do not like camp, and kept mum about it, while everyone else was flailing. I am glad that WWFM did so well for Adam, but I'm one of those fans that couldn't, and still don't like WWFM in it's recorded version, I only can take that song live, acoustic or otherwise. It's still one of the 5 songs of Adam that I always skip. I barely listen to it when it comes on the radio. I could never understand the hook/catchiness of WWFM, cause it never stuck in my head.
But after saying all of that, BTIKM is now my favorite song of Adam. I love it more then every song on FYE, well, I rank it on par with CLYG. And what I love about this song, is that it does showcases his voice just like CLYG. FYE the album, while good, and I played the heck out of it, there were a lot of songs that felt like you couldn't really appreciate them, unless it was sung live. Like none of them could compare to him live, or capture how good he sounds live. BTIKM feels like it's soo good, that it sounds great in it's recorded version, and you know it will sound great live as well.
Oh well, tl;dr, but just got a chance to log on, so wanted to bert with everyone.
Oh and listening to the stream all over again!! WOW!!
