I am so ecstatic over the positive reviews about BTIKM. Over and over again you read about his incredible voice. The little snarky part of me wants to comment, DUUUUHHHH!!! The powerful, wonderful voice is referred to as a "given," like it is a known fact, not a discovery. "Yup, there is that signature Lambert voice we all love." Where the hell have you been for the past 3 years? You just now nabbed onto the fact that Adam is the best male singer in the world currently? And you are practicing revisionist history to say that the acknowledgement is retroactive? Not complaining, mind you. I love the recognition.....FINALLY. ABOUT DAMNED TIME!!I couldn't agree more. Were these people living under a rock? ABOUT DAMNED TIME!! Sums it up perfectly, Cassie. keyboard! Have you weighed in yet on what you think about the single?

Can I just say I am floving all the RT by peeps on my feed who love the song, and I LOVE even more when I go to their page and see it's not someone who is a regular stan/fan and/or someone who obvsly likes music that's not even closely related to Adam? YAY!

And I certainly don't know how the Jewish religion feels about homosexuality. Most religions don't accept it openly - except for the Episcopalians. Do we have a Jewish ATOP member who knows what the Torah says about being gay (or if it even says anything)? [grins] I was about to write another long-winded post when I backtracked and saw Q3 already answered. The only thing I will add is that the Orthodox movement does not accept homosexuality. However the same translated word of "abomination" that's used to decribe homosexuality is also used to describe shellfish eating...and they don't do that either. So, at least they're being consistent. : Conservatives are split on the topic. My shul actively encourages same-sex couples, but many do not. My mother, who was raised fairly traditionally, actively dislikes gays and will call the smart or handsome ones "a waste". That said, she will also use the same terminology to describe heterosexual Jews who intermarry (marry non-Jewish partners). I think in her eyes if you don't have a union that produces Jewish children, what's the point? My sister and I finally gave up arguing with her over the matter as her mind is firmly set on the topic. I don't know much about the Reform movement, so I'll take Q3's word on what the tenents are!

But hoppers, you're forgetting the secular Jews :( You already talked about them! ;D ETA: That said, I really don't know how it works in Israel, where religious observation seems to be a more "all or nothing" deal than it does here in the U.S. Or maybe that's just a misperception on my part.......

Hi Keyboard!
Sitting here realizing that I've spent all this time reading all the squeeing and flailing but haven't really posted much myself. I love the single, but I have no doubt that there will be even better tracks on the album. All my favorites from FYE were the songs he co-wrote so I have no doubt Adam's songs will please me. I think all of the songs he has a hand in writing have a very strong vibe to them. They take you to a place, a world of their own. When you listen you can step inside the songs and make yourself at home. He does that with all the songs but it is strongest on those he contributes heavily to. This is why his live performances are so powerful, because he takes you with him into the songs and you don't just HEAR them you EXPERIENCE them.
For me, watching the Queen performance was amazing because there were times when I truly felt like Freddie was with them, harmonizing along. Adam stepped INTO the songs and conjured up a world with Freddie rather than replacing him.

I am so loving that the Times article is on the Queen Rock Band blog. I think it adds even more credibility to a cemented relationship of some kind. So excited. It could not be more perfect - Adam as his own man in a rocket ship to the stratosphere as well as the go to front man for major events with Queen. Wow. @queenrockband is a fan twitter. Queen's twitter is @queenwillrock.

Thank you so much for the clarifications of Jewishness. I can now understand that the Christmas time is not the best time for Adam to come to Finland, because you can't actually do anything else than celebrate it, if you are here during those days. No one is working and all the places are closed. People just meet their relatives and bring time together eating and giving presents. And the weather is usually very depressing here in the Southern Finland (wet, dark, cold, no snow). :( But we have our Sunshine from California visiting us now. Maybe it lightens up a bit these dark days. 8-)
