Last I heard it got pushed back because the single preview/leak was so poorly received. :-/ The single leaked on 11/9/11 and Interscope press release was 12/15. Nothing seems to have changed since then --- Also many news reports based on press release: Here's an early Christmas present for Madonna fans: we’ve finally got a release date for her new album. The as-yet untitled CD will hit stores in March, while the first single off the album, "Gimme All Your Luvin," should be out the last week in January. That's the song that leaked online early last month. The upcoming album, Madonna's first since 2008's Hard Candy, is the initial release of the three Madonna's contracted to release under her 2007 deal with Live Nation and Interscope Records. The Hollywood Reporter notes that this first album release is projected to be worth $40 million of the 10-year, $100 million deal. Madonna's got a busy early 2012. In addition to the album and single release, her directorial effort W.E. opens nationally February 3, just two days before her halftime performance at the Super Bowl. Looks like TRESPASSING will be released around the same time as Madonna. She should open with a big first week. Her last album, 2008's "Hard Candy," debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, selling 280,000 copies in its first week. Let's hope they are in different weeks! I want Adam out first! Soo.. Madona & Gaga are in the same labels. No wonder Madona didn't say anything when one of Gaga's song sounds like her song. La Isla Bonita? :-/

I am afraid that Interscope might deliberately release the same week as Adam so as to overshadow him. Frankly, I don't think they care. She is going to have great first week numbers and in all honesty Adam is small potatoes against Madonna.

I do not think that Interscope will align the Madonna release to Adam's. They really can't get it out sooner than March -- she just finished it in December. The single will be out in January who knows what it will do.
I really do not know who still buys Madonna music -- her audience for the last tour looked like it was average 40-something years old and was not much like a Lady Gaga audience or an Adam audience.
I actually think that if Adam and Madonna released the same week, it will help Adam's sales. But I also think she has a good shot at taking #1 for her week so want her NOT IN ADAM's WEEK!!!
I want a nice clear week with no major releases -- cause I want TRESPASSING to be #1 in the US.

adamlambert Adam Lambert (google translate is so cool) haha 1 minute ago OMG he's using google translate?? ??? ??? who knows what he's sending out LMAO gelly way to go gurl! OK, first comment ever from this de-lurker. Adam's tweet in Finnish was 100% perfect. It was so good that I don't think it came from Google translate. Spanish looked ok to me as well; Mandarin I don't know well enough to say how he did there.

Love your theory.... this means Interscope sees Adam as a BIG star... or at least POTENTIALLY BIG COMPETITION for their artists.. woo hooooo
