Our 30 something massage therapist came over last night for our monthly appointment. She is a casual Adam fan and relies on me for info and updates. She listens to Z100 and I couldn't wait to hear her opinion of BTIKM. One listen and she loved it. Asked me to play it several more times. She said that there will be a bunch of dancey remixes coming and that she can't wait for those. She said that Z100 NYC would play the crap out of it. Several times I caught her humming or singing part of it and we did a high five saying "yea, it sticks in your head". She has gone through a recent divorce and is now with a guy that she says is her soulmate. She couldn't wait to get home and play it for him, 'cause she was finally with someone who "knew her better than she knows herself". Just one person in a sea of many, but it made me happy. Great story, Sugaree! I'm only on p.2 (it's official--I will be behind on all things Adam for the foreseeable future!)--but your story prompts me to tell mine. Double busy rn due to godson being on break from school and spending the week here. Part of our "fun" together is listening to each other's favorite songs. He shared his current favorite songs (Dev's Dancing in the Dark and Cobra Starship's You Make Me Feel Good--both songs with a lot of electronica) from Youtube and I shared my current fav BTIKM (of course!) without telling him what it was. He put on the headphones, started bopping his head as soon as the drumbeat started, sang along, and 1 minute into it exclaimed "I LOVE THIS SONG!" He asked me to play it again when it ended. Then he said "This is Adam, isn't it?" ;D Smart kid. ETA: Ironically, his default tune--the one that he hums or sings loudly ALL THE TIME when he's playing with his cars, action figures, legos is....."DON'T STOP BELIEVIN" ???? He knows every word and it makes me think of Adam every time he sings it!

Well, record companies are competive between each other so I don't see why it isn't a possibility especially since Interscope is now the Idol label and they might want to overshadow a SONY Idol. It's not so ridiculously out of the realm of possibility. Record labels DO jocky a lot of releases around what other record labels are doing in order to either avoid or invite comparisons. Nickleback and Daughtry were released together in spite of the fact that both bands asked not to be, but the record companies wanted it that way. Nickleback talked about this in an interview. Yes, labels pay a lot of attention to other labels releases. That is why Nickelback, Daughtry and James Durbin released in the same week -- Daughtry and Durbin's labels expected to get a sales lift from the Nickelback release -- fans often buy more than one album at a time. Kelly's last album was moved to Fall 2011 to avoid all the mega-divas in Spring 2011. I just do not think the Interscope thinks Madonna and Adam are in competition. Looking at Madonna's release schedule -- she finished the album in late December, releases the single in late January, Superbowl and movie premier in February, Album in late March. She has a large, established fanbase. And she really is selling to her existing fans not new fans. So the promotional strategy will be to make her fans aware of the release and then release it. Madonna's last four albums were #1 --- 2000, 2003, 2006, 2008 -- all #1. Last two albums swept the world as #1. She has to be the odds on fav to take #1 whenever she releases. Other artist may move around for her -- but not the reverse. Ok, so maybe I am stating it wrong. You are saying late March for Madonna. Adam's album is already set for March 20 which to me is late March. It is quite possible that they will release the same week, maybe not to intentionally overshadow but certainly they will not worry about avoiding that week. So if the 20th works for them there would be no reason for them to choose otherwise. Often the older artists WANT to be seen as competitive and since they are both POP I don't see why they would not be considered competition. I AM NOT saying that Adam is on Madonna's level but they are competing in the same space.

Have a request..just got on.. Does anyone have the MP3 link of BTIKM? I botched my download somehow from AO and am waiting to hear back from them. I also purchased from Amazon, so I don't feel like I am pirating. I'd just like to listen to the song whilst I wait.. Feel free to PM me.. Thanks, guise! ETA: Also a link to EMA's? Had a tech help me yesterday and without my knowing, he erased these two MP3's... ETA2: GOT THE LINKS! Thank you!!!

Thanks, burrito! So Adam is definitely holding his own in that cluster of singles all around him! Can you do the same thing on the Pop page?

But what are they saying???? "Better Than I Know Myself, the new single of Adam Lambert is available in iTunes." and the link. "You can now pre-order Adam Lambert's album" and the link.

Gelly - you ARE simply the best. Q3 and crew - thanks for keeping the platform going!
Adam/Queen - I still watch this vid 5+ times/day.
BTIKM - Watching the world release with total fascination. Wish I knew more about the business side of this but figure it changes too quickly to get a handle on. Thanks to those on this site for their deep knowledge base.
Adam being "Executive Producer" is such an outstanding opportunity. Wish I could be a fly on that wall.
