www.youtube.com/watch?v=gU_RNwmgJg4&feature=relatedI hope this is the right link. CP from my clipboard but then got sidetracked at work oops! lol Anyways it's another BTIKM cover and it's FAB. The guy srsly did a great intepretation and I love his voice. I have a feeling this song will inspire a lot of covers. feeling? I can already imagine a December 2012 article "2012 ends with a 40% increase globally, of patients with voice problems. CWL7XOJUniversity research showed that most of new patients were TV singing competitions contestants. The vocal cords injury was caused by their attempt of covering a certain Adam Lambert song" I can also imagine BTIKM during the Trespassing tour "are you having fun?" "YEEEES!!!!" "do you know the words to this song?" "YEEEES!!!!" "can you sing along with me?" "NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!"

Yes, labels pay a lot of attention to other labels releases. That is why Nickelback, Daughtry and James Durbin released in the same week -- Daughtry and Durbin's labels expected to get a sales lift from the Nickelback release -- fans often buy more than one album at a time. Kelly's last album was moved to Fall 2011 to avoid all the mega-divas in Spring 2011. I just do not think the Interscope thinks Madonna and Adam are in competition. Looking at Madonna's release schedule -- she finished the album in late December, releases the single in late January, Superbowl and movie premier in February, Album in late March. She has a large, established fanbase. And she really is selling to her existing fans not new fans. So the promotional strategy will be to make her fans aware of the release and then release it. Madonna's last four albums were #1 --- 2000, 2003, 2006, 2008 -- all #1. Last two albums swept the world as #1. She has to be the odds on fav to take #1 whenever she releases. Other artist may move around for her -- but not the reverse. Ok, so maybe I am stating it wrong. You are saying late March for Madonna. Adam's album is already set for March 20 which to me is late March. It is quite possible that they will release the same week, maybe not to intentionally overshadow but certainly they will not worry about avoiding that week. So if the 20th works for them there would be no reason for them to choose otherwise. Often the older artists WANT to be seen as competitive and since they are both POP I don't see why they would not be considered competition. I AM NOT saying that Adam is on Madonna's level but they are competing in the same space. There was a comment upthread that Interscope might have decided to release Madonna's album in the same week as Adam's because Interscope wanted to beat Sony. I do not believe this is the case. Pop artists compeat for radio airplay -- which is limited. But the process of selling music is a bit different than a big ticket item or electronics or even orange juice -- consumers buy more than one album -- often at the same time and can use them both. If there is a big album release, it gets music buyers into the music department (real or virtual) and they often add an item to their purchase. So the sales dynamics are different. The most likely add-on purchases are other releases by the same artist and releases by related artists. Adam+another Idol artist, Adam+Gaga show up most often on Amazon which is the only large retailer who makes this info public. Just looking at Amazon Madonna sales -- it is Madonna+Madonna then.... Cynder Lauper Lady Gaga Britney Spears Radioactive Sandwich Kylie Minogue Rihanna Janet Jackson Christina Aguilera Michael Jackson Mariah Carey Prince Pink Beyonce George Michael Justin Timberlake Cher No Doubt Adam is Adam+Adam Followed by Lady Gaga Daughtry David Cook Kelly Clarkson Rihanna Crystal Bowersox Scotty McCreery Nickelback Bruno Mars Adele Katy Perry Britney Spears Glee Cast Pink Lauren Alaina Ke$ha Maroon 5 So just based on Amazon.....they only have 4 cross-purchased artists in common......all on every pop artist's list that I have looked at.Lady Gaga Rihanna Britney Spears Pink I am certain that Adam and Madonna share buyers -- I buy both artists' music -- but I do not think there is significant overlap. But if there is, I think it would help Adam. I just want Adam to have a #1 album -- and I want Madonna NOT to release her album on 3/20 -- she can have 3/27
