Read through all the tweets and the last several pages here and I'm still not sure how I feel about this. For sure the timing stinks. The questions will take over every BTIKM promo interview. I still have a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach (especially over the Adam crying part) but I'm sure that will dissipate soonish!
Maybe they were shooting the BTIKM video? lol

Oh boy, just woke up to all this mess! First thoughts: 1. Holiday stress is universal. At one time or another, every one of us has been involved in (or witness to) some kind of blow-up involving lovers, spouses, or relatives, fueled by having too much to do, too much money spent, or too much to eat or drink. **it happens. 2. I have four hopes: one, the boys are OK. Two, Sauli's "love isn't easy, but it's forever," statement is for real, and not just damage control. Three, A&S will have lots of make-up fun and a great rest-of-holiday. And four, all this pushes BTIKM sales even higher! 3. Everybody chill, and enjoy the good side of this season!  |

WTF is this fuckery???? Of course, I withhold all my full judgment until something official comes out, but even in the BEST SCENARIO this is shitty. There's just no way to spin it. I love and support Adam, you all know that. But he's still a human being and he has his faults and I am not going to look the other way when he displays them. It's only fair. And what he did now, using physical violence - regardless of the circumstance - is stupid, IMO. When you are a huge star this shit will come out, and you need to take that into account and rein in your jealousy/protectiveness/drunkedness/whatever. Gah. He's only hurting himself. Unfortunately, in the era of Beiber and Disney stars, people nowadays do not appreciate a good ole' rock star with an attitude like they used to. Nowadays if you are not super nice, you are taken to the wall of infamy by the public. Even Gaga, who has this presumably "bad girl" image, if you think about it, is squeaky clean. Things are different in the rap world (see Kanye, etc - he got flack, but he still sells) but in pop, God help you if you start having a negative reputation. ETA: Just to be clear, I'm not saying this is OMG! the end of Adam's career. By no means. But it's no step in the right direction, either. |

Hell of a way to wake up. But thankful I had time to read thru till I feel a bit better. My thoughts: I think this will NOT hurt his career--probably help it--it sounds like it can be played down. Adam is smart and smooth enough to get his way out of this one. Circumstances (time, place) were in their favor this time. Lucky! Sauli is really sharp--great response. Quick out of the gate. Of course he should be the "spokesperson" first. Impressed. I hope this is a learning experience for them in their relationship. Love is not easy. But this should not happen again, public or private. Finally, ALCOHOL is a mind altering drug. People who are trying to drive a multi-million-dollar career should not drink! Stupid. As others before me said today, I think there were TOO many things, not just alcohol. Tired, jet lag, nervous to meet Sauli's family , yes jealous, stranger in a land that doesn't know, all of them combined are too much. He is human like the rest of the us. Adam has proven to us that he doesn't get alcohol get in his way. So may concerts , so many months and nothing happened not once. |

Adam managed to do 108+ concerts, innumerable press interviews, radio promo and G-d only remembers what else for his 1st album. You can't do all of that with any serious drug or alcohol problems. To put one thing right first is that Finns don't drink that much in average compared to many other Europeans. However, we tend to drink heavily when we do, and I have seen so many foreigners to fall in that trap, that they follow their accopanying Finns in drinking, when partying and cannot cope with it. And I am now talking about middle aged business men. So don't need to have drinking problem to get into trouble. But have to admit I thought ,that by now , Adamhad been warned already . |
