Oh, no - I'm sorry. I'm imagining it. I'm very alarmed. I don't see how this can be played down much. I'm so sorry. I feel terrible for him. But I think it's a huge fuck-up. And I think he's too smart not to be realizing it himself. And I'm sure he's shaken. Bridget, I'm not as upset as I originally was. The Finnish-speaking members here have really helped by translating and giving perspective. I don't see any way to put a positive spin on this, mostly because, like you said--Adam will be kicking his OWN ass and I hate that he was upset enough to lose control--but he IS passionate and Sauli is, too, and PEOPLE DO STUPID THINGS WHEN THEY'RE DRUNK. We all have. (or most probably) The pap situation in Florida blew over. This will, too. I just hope THEY can let it blow over, because I like them so much as a couple. But we'll never know what happened or any underlying reasons for sure--which is as it should be, because it's a private matter. Love is fucking complicated, isn't it? Anyway, it'll be a lot of press but I don't see it hurting Adam in the long run one little bit--CAREER-WISE. HEART-WISE might be another matter. :-/ Adam HAS talked about being overly-jealous before. :( Decided to log on one more time before bed and can't quite believe this. I feel really terrible for Adam.  It should have been such a great week for him. But he's human, even though he seems superhuman most of the time. I don't know how he has the energy to do everything he does and maybe he just hit a wall. Who knows. It's terrible that it has to be public. I hope his usual resilience is intact. Light and love, Adam Lovely thoughts to end the night on if I can. Light and Love to Adam...and Sauli...and all of you. Ah, insomnia. So I'm reading along and news of an arrest? Emmuzka, thanks for the translation. What exactly is a "fist fight, Finnish style"? Way to go for the paper announcing their locations, so that fans can try to greet Adam on release. There are actually mention about "fighting in Finnish style" in two separate news, which irks me to no end. The "Finnish style fighting" refers to an unfortunate cultural tradition to start physical no-weapons fighting to "settle" arguments when people, mostly men, are seriously shitfaced drunk. That the articles call the fighting Finnish style, they both a) belittle the incident (since "everybody does that"), and b) give a message that "Finnish style" of fighting is better than, say, American style (whatever that might be) It's like the media would almost be proud of them fighting physically and not just verbally. |

Well, there are a lot of people out there that will try to make it sound worse than what happened. Hopefully it was nothing more than an embarrassing incident. I don't know, now twitter is saying they aren't really in jail, just detained. I doubt anyone is hurt, but this may put a crimp in the vacation.

I read some of the Finnish news. Based on them it SEEMS like Sauli was seriously drunk but maybe not considered as responsible of the fight, because he was taken to a location where they take people who are too drunk to take care of themselves. Adam was taken to the police station. It was also said that Sauli will soon be taken to the same police station to be interviewed.
Knowing Finnish procedures, I suspect they will let them out still on Thursday Helsinki time, since the police says it wasn't serious. Finnish law is very lenient.
I SO hope that the police transports them without the media or the fans getting to them. When they are released, they need to first sleep and get over their hangovers and then talk...

this is a story i don't want to believe. it is difficult to not get a negative gut reaction. to have such a physical reaction is telling me i am too invested in these strangers. i don't like to excuse bad behavior to alcohol. I am waiting for the rest of the story, but not feeling very good about this considering past events. if this is true as reported it is a pathetic event.
