ADAM'S TWEET: PERFECTION
TMZ'S PIECE: HILARIOUS
(Just goes to show you can do ~segmented humor about a particular group have have it not be mean-spirited or with cheap shots. This got some of the ghey jibes in, but was very clever and funny.)
After I tweeted the EQ article, this singer tweeted me and asked me to take a look at the open letter to ElectroQueer he had written about why Adam's success is so important to all aspiring male pop artists. It's very well written with some great points:

Let Me Entertain You – An Open Letter to Jordan Meehan (EQ MUSIC BLOG)
by ΔNGELO on Thursday, December 22, 2011 at 7:20pm
As an avid EQ reader and a subsequent alumnus of both EQ Music Showcases and blog features, I feel almost obligated to respond to some of what was outlined in Jordan Meehan’s “State of American Male Pop”.
Adam Lambert’s talent is unquestionable. As a vocalist – his vocal power is relatively unmatched. Training, technique, raw energy…quite simply, Adam Lambert is a Star.
Let us not forget, however, how his brilliance came to be. He has already been embraced by the factory, brought in and bought in by a broad demographic of teens, tweens and glittering (female) fans salivating for the next high note. That does not negate his talent, but it pressurizes the combustibility of his fame.
Adam’s struggle to remain steadily poised upon the dais on which he has been raised is a precarious one. The difference between Adam Lambert and every other independent Male Pop Singer in our current “State” is that Adam now has the resources to create a sound that will secure him in the sparkling musical firmament. If enlisting a host of aural magicians and mega-producers seems calculated or formulaic – it’s the smartest investment anyone in his position could make. We need Adam to be relevant, and as a fan (and a peer in some sense) I want him to do whatever it takes to stay securely positioned in the American Pop Music Psyche.
As a Male Singer-Songwriter poised to release my own solo effort into this female dominated Pop Abyss – the prospect of being heard is quite disparaging. I personally have been told by label execs to change my sound, alter my lyrics – even change my genre of music altogether… “Dumb it down” they said…be less conceptual, less artistic…more ‘mainstream’…In essence be less ME.
There is an undercurrent of males in Pop Music scaling the walls of clubs and discotheques across the globe. I look into my own circle of friends – Ferras, Raff, John Chandler…Our collective determination to succeed in the face of what is an almost an unforgiving American ear keeps someone like me ALIVE. Look at Pop darling Simon Curtis…or the brilliantly masked melodies of MONARCHY! Nihilism will only keep shutting Executive level doors, nihilism will silence an entire legion of men who are fighting radio, blogs, labels, licensing agents, booking agents, clubs and the collective American public from welcoming us on to their playlists…
So respect to Adam for leading the fight, but do not doubt the lesser known…we are here. We will be heard.
